  1. Keel Laid on 60-meter MondoMarine superyacht "Sarastar"

Last Friday saw the keel laying of the first 60-meter superyacht being built by MondoMarine. Previously known as simply 'M60' the project now has an actual name, "Sarastar". The majority of this superyacht is going to be built in aluminium to a design by Luca Dini. In fact Luca Dini is also doing the design work on the interior.

Even at 60-meters the semi-displacement hull will aid the twin MTU 16V 4000 M73L engines in the yacht attaining the expected 21-knot top speed. Pull the throttle back significantly to around 12-knots, a Trans-Atlantic range and more can be had (4,100 nautical miles). Sarastar is being done by the same team that worked on the 41-meter MondoMarine motoryacht "Nameless".

While the specific arrangement of Sarastar isn't known to the wider public, we have an idea how many guests she will be carrying eventually. She features accommodation for twelve in six cabins. Five double cabins are located on the lower deck while the full-beam master suite is located forward on the main deck. Now that the keel has been laid in the presence of her owner, ther clock has literally started on the progression of construction. The owner started a 'MondoMarine countdown clock' that signaled Sarastar has 451 days left until launching in June 2015. Mondo Marine has also confirmed the future presence of Sarastar at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2015.
