Did anyone see the proposed work that is to go into the current explorer yacht "Legend"? She is to be turned into a full luxury yacht with a capacity of 30 guests. She will gain lifeboats to satisfy the SOLAS rules in that regard. Alot of cosmetic and structural changes will be made but the same ice-strengthened hull will remain. Below is a rendering of how she will look.

    Good day,
I have seen Legend before and during the refit. Unfortunately, I did not see the stern addition that is probably being welded on right now.

Superstructure have been increased to add deck space, stores, modern cranes and the helicopter deck will be brought up to accommodate the regulatory insulation.
The front garage is modified to accommodate a submarine and a new heavy crane is ready to fit. The old 4à ft fishing tenders have been removed to be replaced by SOLAS fully enclosed life boats and large fast tenders.

Inside, the old classic edwardian look has been almost completely gutted as it did not comply with basic regulations (the boat was a Panamanian flag yacht, with quite little control). The whole interior is being rebuild much lighter and airier, but keeping the prettiest accents such as the bars, some forger iron railings and some wood pillars. A complete new owners deck as well as a new bridge is created, since the former ones were damaged beyond repair.

The most striking alteration, as hinted above, will be the addition of a new yacht style bathing platform with a big marina aft deck, including a glass walled swimming pool with cascade screen and a big dining table able to accommodate the maximum 26 guests. All of the aft decks have been restyled and squared off in line with that aft platform, increasing the open entertainment spaces.

The owner plans to present her at the Monaco yacht show this autumn, however the yacht herself may not make it as she still needs to be launched in the summer and undergo sea trials and detailing in Holland. Hopefully by then there will be actual pictures and a bit more than renderings available.

She should be chartered through C&N
