My buddy bought a 380 open and we are getting it ready for next spring. But it has something I haven't seen on any other Luhrs. Most think it is somehow used to watch the trolling baits......but I am not sure. Figured I would put it on this forum and see what you guys come up with. Another popular use people have come up with is to bend the old lady over it.... :p:p:p:rolleyes:

Never seen it before. Almost positive it was owner added. Could be someone liked to sit there, facing aft, with their feet on the tackle center, so they have a little higher perspective.

Weird since there was a lot of work that went into adding it...

Any marine metal fabricator could weld that up in a few days. The fact that it's over the existing seat tells me it was added after the build.

New to me. Unless there's a light bulb in it I'm with the sexual aid group.

Doesn't look very comfortable for sitting...

I've been following this over at The Hull Truth. Lots of funny responses, but nothing makes sense. I can't imagine that's a seat. Way too much work with the welding and where did they get that "seat"? Then again, it must have been intended to support a lot of weight or they wouldn't have put so much tubing to support it. How high is the "seat" above the rigging station? Seems a little high compared to the height of the bench below it.

Has your buddy tried to ask the previous owner what the seat is for?
