Thanks, Im glad you like it .There be soon a flip out swimplatform, sunbed in aft with a tender garage under, integrated retractable gangway, sky roof , water jets....
Great looking design. However I would hardly characterize it as a "Down East Styled Commuter"! Kelly Cook
I definitely see potential. I prefer these lines to those of the Wally 70, while still maintaining the wicked looking hull.
The long skylights work very well for the forward cabin. But not for the hardtop, I would loose those. Replace with a retractable panel if they really want that. Kelly
I agree with you, it looks cleaner without. The idéa was to get more light in maybe chromatic glasstop will look better.
If you want to play with glass panel shapes for the hardtop then chevrons or triangle themes might be fun. The 2 rectangular panels look like an afterthought. Kelly
I'm going to take the high road on this. I actually like the separated glass panels. I've been onboard express yachts with full sliding roof panels, such as the Warren 87' Express. No matter how well the glass is tinted, there is no escaping the sun and the inherent reflection problems. With a solid divider between the panels, at least you have some escape. And as a design exercise, I think the rectangular shapes lend themselves to the angular lines of the boat. Either way, I like the entire concept you've put forward Orion. I could see this being accepted in the mainstream as well. Undoubtedly, it’s a much easier sell then Ms. Sweden... but few boats summon such sweet splendor. Keep up the good work!
There are some similarity yes but I agree with Kerry, these roof windows looks not good on my design. On the Fjord boats more boxy shape it looks ok. Instead there will be one larger retractable sunroof that when closed is fully intergrated into rooflines. Maybe also pop-up radar and sat. antennas?? Have you seen that before?
Hmm... I don't know about the portholes like that. I think it would likely look better with separate, but still elongated portholes (I realize they are likely separate and just made to look like a single window). And maybe a larger window (vertically) for the main salon or whatever the main room is on the lower deck. Similar to that of the Azimuts, without looking like a knockoff, you know? I think those windows not only look nice on the outside, but are awesome from the inside. Also, I like the skylights the way they are on the hardtop. I think you will want some way to get a breeze going through the cabin there though.
Those "portholes" aren't bad. But I would not make them such an extreme long span. Instead break up the same overall length into at least 4 sets of portholes. At the same time you could also play with making the set(s) near the bow single height instead of double. That is eliminate the bottom porthole, not make the one porthole taller. Kelly
