    techmati,

IV does not most of the time resemble the 4th yacht of the same owner. if there are other yachts registered under the same name in the same registry, one of the methods to register the yacht under the same name is to add a numerical suffix. i am having the name "nilo" for all my boats, the 4th actually and to achieve this i am changing the name of the previous boat to something else before i sell it to free the name "nilo".

i had an azimut 40 and even the normal pilothouse windows were leaking like a fountain. consequently my next boats were not azimut. i have learned that ferretti is also having difficulties with their new concept windows for leakage, which are not at the bow, but along the sides at middle of the boat.

i will post one last pic cos i will be signing off soon. Look at the kid's face when he climbed back in to the cockpit of the Rivale. Do you remember to be so young. He will be dreaming about that yacht for quite a while. Even though it costs so much. (that is no of concern to him). Perhaps he will remember and buy a Riva in the future on the basis of that memory....

You said it better than I could Carl. This is why I voted for their 62 model instead. Not as radical a window treatment for the hull.

I knew a kid like this. He grew up on the docks of Bahia Mar, where he met Dick Bertram, Frank Denison and Jack Hargrave. He use to sketch yachts and sell the drawings to local skippers and owners for about the cost of a candy bar. Today, he's the admin of a yachting website. ;)

Talking about photos 54-56, the Atlantis 47'. I was reading some mags in the traffic jam coming to work, checking out the Atlantis 55'. The price quoted was euro 855.000. They also had the Fairline Targa 52' at euro 460.000. That is close to double the price...... worth it?

The AZIMUTs with the red hulls should be 43S and 68S (not 435, 685) - Photos 25-30

Jon, do you happen to have your own web site? Putting a great number of photos on simple web pages may prove easier than trying to upload them one-at-a-time to a message board. Or maybe make some special arrangement with Carl?

Fraid not :( I want to get an online portfolio, however i need webspace!

    Anyone recommend a reliable host?

I will only be selecting a careful few from the SOTON show, mainly exteriors with a few interiors of things i think are worth pointing out :)

Hopefully, it willbe about the same size as this thread. Will know more tomorrow.

If you just want to throw a few of your fave pics online then you can host them for zip at tinypic.com If you want a better, more organized place to host, then you might want to spring for a photobucket account or something like that.
