There aren't many electronics threads here, but I'm hopeful someone might know the answer to this:

I'm putting a 6212 on my flybridge. I'm also toying with putting a monitor in the pilothouse to act as a remote to see what's happening on the main unit.

If I put a monitor in the pilothouse, can I use the Garmin Remote Control from the pilothouse to control the main unit on the FB? Garmin says the remote is RF and has a range of 32'. Distance from the FB unit to the Pilothouse remote monitor is about 6'.

I'm curious if anyone has "real world" experience with the Garmin remote....have you used it thru walls/ceilings? Any problems with 6-10' through a ceiling?

Main nav system is a PC based Nobeltec, with Northstar 952 & 958's as back-ups (Northstars will be removed when the Garmin goes in).

    Thanks.

    Found my answer, thanks.
Yes, the Garmin remote will work fine through multiple bulkheads and even off the boat.
