No mate, this was in the early 80's. Yes I'm that old.

I hope lurkers will read the article or else they'll assume that's photoshopped. I've seen pictures and even film of that phenomenon before the days of computers. Freaky.

I have seen similar and also ships upside down on the horizon. Not so unusual but this was really flying high...!

Saw a blue (hull) Nordhaven in the PNW in Tsehum Harbour named “Ship Faced”. When I commented on the name the owner added that the tender was named “Piece of Ship”. Phone wasn’t handy, so no photo to share.

Police in Gatineau, Quebec want to remind drivers that they are responsible not only for the safety and security of the vehicles they’re behind the wheel of, but also everything that vehicle is towing, too.

That should go without saying, but it just doesn’t, folks. And scenes like this one posted to the Quebec city’s police force’s Facebook page makes me wonder if it ever will go without saying.

Indeed, that is a Toyota Echo – a vehicle discontinued nearly 20 years ago because it was too small to be a useful sedan in North America – towing a “gigantesque” pontoon boat. But what the car lacked in towing capacity the driver made up for in audacity.

It’s a testament to modern chemistry that we don’t see more transoms missing a motor. Do you know if this was a structural failure, or did the bracket break?

Carl, looks like the bracket let go at the steering pin.
