Looking at relocating fuel filter to accommodate a water separator bowl. Current mounting bracket sits right above the stringer, very tight design, no room to mount filter with strainer bowl. Question of configuration... I've heard better pressure if fuel filter is configured after the pump. Thoughts/experience with connecting filter before or after the pump? TIA

Water separating / first filter always before the fuel pump.
A proper secondary, in line, filter is added after the pump.

When in doubt read the directions, or at least look at the pictures.

Better pressure?? Where did you hear this??

Actually I seem to remember that racor specifically warns about mounting the filters after the pump and under pressure
