I'm toying with the idea of putting my 1959 40' Whiticar Shearwater Sportfisherman on the market. She's hull #20 out of the famed Stuart, FL yard. I've invested over $300k into the refit thus far, and she's about 70% complete. I know that I'll never get that amount back out, but I would consider selling her for a reasonable number, to a good home who will finish the refit appropriately!

If there is any interest, please reply with an email address and I'll forward along pertinent details and photos.

The boat is located in Palm City, Florida.

    Thanks,

    Harry

She was originally christened "Ondine" and then renamed "Anchor Too."

My boat was owned previously by Brian Flynn of Flynn's AC in Palm City, and Capt. Willard Laughon of Anchor Realty in Stuart. It was berthed under a boathouse at the end of Frazier Creek, near Shepard's Park off US1. I too am familiar with Hobo, Skipper II and Gannet. You probably know already, but Hobo was in a terrible state of disrepair and recently sold by John Bayliss of Bayliss Boatworks, Skipper II was repainted and renamed, and is for sale in St. Pete and Gannet is in mothballs in Whiticar's building off Commerce St.

Hahaha - no, not exactly - simply testing the waters in search of a good home for her!

The Huckins, try not to cringe, was being stripped of everything by its possessor in an attempt to recover some of his costs. I never actually got the chance to see her in person, and I'm afraid to see her now! He did offer to keep the "Fairform Flyer" plates for me though, which just made me want to punch him even more.

What a crying shame. He should spend some time at the bottom before floating back up. Just desserts.

    Huckins 64'

    Agreed.

Next time I'm in Broward County I'm going to nervously inquire about her current condition, whereabouts . . . :(
