Here's the Belle of the Ball or Queen of the Show. Either way, M/Y Laurel was a striking view as she exited the docks.
I'm curious as to her starboard anchor. I'm assuming it was deployed while coming in, but that seems very far into the channel. Thoughts?

It is not unusual to drop an anchor without having the chain stretched. In such situations it is to be able to get out if the weather or tide is against you...

Argyll should learn proper flag etiquette, the US flag and Cdn flag should not be on the same staff, specially one above the other, very insulting to Canada,

I like that big gray one in Post 172. Certainly breaks from the usual color and lines of the typical white yacht. :D

Actually, I believe he has that in the right position. The bow jackstaff is utilized as appears to be the port position. That brings the second flag to stbd below the courtesy flag.
    "Foreign Guest Flags
When a foreign guest is aboard, you may display the ensign of the guest's country from the bow staff or outboard port spreader. Should more than one such guest flag be appropriate, wear them on spreader halyards from port to starboard in the alphabetical order of their countries' names in the English language."

Yeah I noticed it as well. The Canadian flag should have at least been on the port side line and the US flag on the starboard line by itself since the yacht is in the US. It seems the house flag of the yacht or broker flag or whatever it is was on the port line so they had no space for the Canadian flag. I think they should have just had the Canadian flag on the port line and then have the house flag of the yacht on the bow.

Is it just me or is anyone else getting fed up with the wide photos? It seems like every other thread today requires scrolling sideways because some idiot doesn't bother to read the guidelines and none of the moderators seem to be reading or deleting the offending pictures.

Thank you Carl for nailing the others in the past hour or so.
