The Carver name has existed and became synonymous with boating many years ago. In fact, the yard dates back to around 1954 when the founders Charles "Charlie" Carter and George Verhagen were building mahogany runabouts in Wisconsin. If you join the founders' last names you will see where the Carver name came from (CARter and VERhagen). Their initial business was sold back in 1963 being known as the Carver Boat Corporation. The new owners were instrumental in moving boat building towards fiberglass construction and over time this moved the company from being a regional builder to one with international presence and sales. Fast-forward to 2004 and this is when Carver launched the Marquis line which consisted of 59-foot and 65-foot Motor Yachts. Both models of the Marquis line were popular resulting in over 100 sales alone for the 65-foot variant. Although a production-oriented build, the Carver 59 Marquis did allow for owners to add personal touches to the boat making it 'theirs'. Additionally many modifications were made and in this case a fully-enclosed flybridge was one of those changes. Some units have a purpose-built hardtop from the factory while this listing has a soft enclosure formed around the radar arch. To help create some extra power onboard a rack was integrated to mount photovoltaics to. Note the window covers, a good sign of a well-maintained boat. Beautiful Life has her arrangement across two internal decks and a soft-enclosed flybridge. The Italian team of Nuvolari-Lenard created something really special using its “cost-is-no-object” approach to craft the timeless lines of he Marquis range. Beautiful Life straddles both ends of the spectrum by offering European looks with American practicality. Despite numerous Marquis 59 in existence, this boat is particularly clean and well-maintained. Below decks she comes with dual Rolls-Royce MTU 825 horse power engines. MTU are proven marine engines that see application in many boat types. For example: the U.S. Coast Guard, Harbor Patrol, Fire, Police boats, and ferries around the world are fitted with MTU power and you can commonly find some logging 10,000 or more hours of service. Besides the durability of the engines Beautiful Life's MTU powerplants were just freshly serviced.

Despite her sporty exterior design, the yacht is practical too. Safety is ensured by sturdy side and bow railings. Even though the rail may increase or decrease in height depending where you are on the outer decks, there is always adequate height protection when traversing from bow to stern, at rest or underway.

This is one of the cleanest Carver 59 Marquis you will come across and although she was built in 2004 there have been over $100,000 in upgrades made to the vessel. Additionally, she served as a regatta flagship seeing overall light use by her owners. This, coupled with the extensive upgrades makes this Carver 59 Marquis an attractive acquisition for those who may be looking for a live-aboard option, cruising, fishing or even as a romantic getaway vacation type of platform.

Here we have a view of the portside walkway side deck looking towards the bow. This view also shows from onboard how much bulwark is protecting you from midships to aft. As you move forward the deck transitions from teak finishing to fiberglass via two steps. The side safety railing angles-up to keep the required height within the rules for safety. Remember that extensive upgrade the owner did, that included much of the lighting onboard with this aspect being changed to LED inclusive of on the deck areas. There are colored showboat LED deck and water lights!

The aft of any vessel is part of the design but it also gives a good idea as to how well the overall boat was design. Sometimes aft views are not the most flattering angles on some yachts. Here is a closer view of Beautiful Life's transom area. There is no backlit name plate on the stern but a decal does the appropriate job. Here you also glimpse the teak work which was redone throughout the vessel. High-end 1⁄2" quality teak decks are installed. Under the black cover is a small grill. The swim platform as part of the boat's structure is teak-finished but the aft-most end serves as storage for the tender or PWC and is moveable to allow for loading and unloading.

This view is the aft main deck cockpit area. It is fully teak-finished inclusive of the steps that take you to the flybridge. All aspects are in good condition from storage locker doors, access hatch below and now with fresh LED deck lighting shining on the reworked teak, the ambience and high-quality look is evident.

A closer look at the teak-lined swim platform of Beautiful Life. To the right of image, the functioning part of the swim platform with tender on chocks can be seen. There is also a new remote for the hydraulic swim platform. The tender is special being a custom-made dinghy by Gig Harbor Boat Works. There is a 12' Point Defiance with forward-facing rowing system AND main and jib sails ($10,000)! That is quite the package for the custom-made dinghy aboard Beautiful Life!

Even the stairwell on the port side that leads from the aft main deck to the flybridge is teak-finished and has incorporated side lighting. A detail that cannot be overlooked is the overhead grab rail which comes in handy when traversing the area while underway.

A tender can also be stored on the extreme-aft of the flybridge. The tie points can be seen however, Beautiful Life has her entire flybridge encapsulated in soft covering. This enclosure is in fact an upgraded Captain Navy Stamoid (not standard Isinglass) including hermetic Goodyear Blimp seals. As we have seen, the boat's exterior floors are finished in teak and are in great shape.

Access to the lazarette is via this flush-fitting door. There is no mistaking what is on the other side of the door given the sign on display. With a little humor, this door opens up to Beautiful Life's Man Cave. Aside from the light-hearted display, to the left of this door is also a gate that leads to the swim platform. There are also side boarding doors on both port and starboard sides.

Moving back up to the flybridge you can start to understand the layout of the deck better. Yes, that is carpet on the floor...not the usual for flybridge applications but remember the area is fully enclosed with an upgraded Captain Navy Stamoid enclosure. In this compact space there are several areas guests will find themselves enjoying. In this image there is a settee along with a blue mosaic-topped counter on the starboard side. Note the lighting and speakers given the owner put in a new Fusion #MS-UD755 Marine Stereo System (upper unit) with Slave Stereo (main floor).

Moving forward on the flybridge is the business end of this deck where the secondary helm control is situated. Navigation can be easier from this position as it is the highest main perspective on the boat. Glimpse the leather captain's chairs and the general good condition all facets are in. Remember this is a 2004 build.

It is just practical and while the main helm is forward downstairs, you won't get a feel for your surroundings like you can on the flybridge. The veneer work on the instruments console is still shining like from day 1 at the Carver yard. Alot of the Carver 59 Marquis boats tend to have a 'racing car' style wheel on the flybridge. Beautiful Life has a multi-point framed wooden wheel that adds class over the more regular wheel. Again, note it is in good condition.

Stepping back slightly from the secondary helm position on the flybridge, you will notice there is a small wet bar. It is a compact area on the port side of the space but comes fitted with small sink and faucet, a couple cup holders, counter region and cupboard space below. It really is a small kitchenette dedicated to serving the flybridge settee area. No need to head downstairs to the galley for simple prep scenarios. The overall sinuous nature of the kitchenette nook is pleasing to the eye. The small sink can be covered when not in use with the provided wooden infill.

Directly in front of the kitchenette nook is bench seating for those willing to ride next to the captain and have a captain's POV moment. The bench upholstery is the same material as the captain's chair. With the zippable flaps in the enclosure natural breeze can still be permitted to enter the flybridge or closed when the weather is inclement. Underfoot is the same carpeting we saw before.

Moving to the interior of Beautiful Life, one will instantly notice the same good care the exterior has been treated with over the years. The interior is in great shape with many items like the carpeting being renewed. This is the salon of Beautiful Life with new high-end Italian sofas embedded. A large screen television is mounted to the wooden cabinetry providing Tv viewing angles from anywhere in the salon. Given the layout of this part of the vessel there are a couple steps that actually serve to demarcate the galley and the salon. Note the woodwork in the space as well, that is Cherry wood that has been hand-rubbed to a piano finish! You will find this particular timber finish throughout.

A slightly broader view of the same salon space. Despite the space being fairly short, it does stretch across the width of the vessel. In fact, the beam of Beautiful Life is 16.5-feet so subtract a couple of feet for the two exterior walk ways there is still decent space to work with on this part of the interior. When the salon doors to the exterior aft cockpit slide back there is minimal threshold demarcating the rail track for the doors.

Still in the salon and here is a bit of a surprise, the TV is mounted on a bracket and can pan and swivel out from its recessed position. This allows greater viewing wherever you are in the salon space. You can be as focused on your favorite show as San Diego Padres' Xander Bogaerts is on the screen.
