Seemed to be a flotilla of Feadships in Ft. Lauderdale this weekend. I was bringing the boat home from the yard and spotted these along the way. Enjoy! The first is "D'Natalin II". Not your typical Feadship...
Not a Feadship, but the lines are strikingly similar. This is "Southerly", a regular resident of Bahia Mar. She's 150' in length. Southerly was a Picchiotti designed by the late Arthur De Fever and she was launched in 1982. The yard of Picchiotti has gone under years ago and their facilities are now part of Perini Navi.
The 40 m Feadship : HALCYON by De Vries Scheepsbouw. Launched as SYNTHESIS years ago. It is believed that she has been replaced by her owner with HALCYON DAYS, the former RASSELAS, another De Vries yacht.
AVANTE IV was formerly known as WEDGE ONE. She was sold to her present owner after having taken delivery of the Starck designed WEDGE TOO.
Carl, I just noticed another "oops"... D'Natalin isn't a Feadship. According to the "Top 100 Largest NA Built Yachts" article in the May/June 05 issue of Boat Int USA D'Natalin (ex-Sally Ann) was built by Delta Marine
This is D'Natalin "2" and it is definately a Feadship. I had a very high-tech way of identifying the builder... the Feadship name plate was on the side! I'm not absolute on the spelling of the name. I often take these pictures, 100's at a time and have to recall from memory the details before posting. This is often compounded by one or two drinks.
Agreed! Among my many favorite Feadships, I always liked "Katrion", because it's small enough that I might be able to afford it one day! I particularly like an expedition style yacht, with plenty of freeboard towards the bow and an abundant amount of space for toys on the aft flybridge deck. Katrion retains much of Feadship's traditional styling cues, but has a modern appeal. Nice job Feadship! This picture was taken at Bahia Mar...
"D'Natalin I" was an old 35m Benetti This newer Feadship "D'Natalin II" is the former "Excellence II" before "Excellence III" the A&R 63m (sistership to Ultima III & Zenobia) was delivered in 2001 to its New England owner H.C.
"D'Natalin I" was an old 35m Benetti" D'Natalin, is a Delta, the sister ship to the previous Fortunate Son, not the Ocean Fast Perfect Prescription. Before it was D'Natalin it spent five years going around the world with the name Sally Ann. If you have been around that particular boat there are some hilarious stories about it. An interesting fact is Fortunate Son is steel hulled and D'Natalin is glass.
Well, I can assure you there was an old Benetti 116 called "D'Natalin" crusing here in the and that stoped often here in Monaco. Most probabably, this Benetti got sold and its former owner called the 151 Delta "D'Nathalin" also... Below is the link of a fellow spotter: http://community.webshots.com/photo/63796771/63798424biJRfk Further proof may be seen on ***** Yacht's webstie, where teh Benetti "D'Natalin" still appears on their page, but the link to its details is not active anymore: http://www.***********.com/listings/charter/index.shtml
That does look like the Halcyon but hard to tell bye the resolution of the images, Halcyon is currently in the yard I work at getting major overhaul, from corrosion repairs to an complete hull fairing and paint job.
nice Here is a shot of my old girls, one of which includes a 102ft Feadship 'Intrepid' formally Endeaver, formally 'Prosit'
agree Gorgeous isn't she!!! 'SY Mistral' Funny thing was, you were one of his critics on a design he has for another of his vessels. Chris
