Do we conclude that Utopia has a small beam for her size

Have to agree, Utopia does have a narrow beam for her size. Should slice through rough seas very well though. :)

What she lacks in beam, she makes up for in sheer square footage.

    Visited Feadship

Some time ago I visited the De Vries - Feadship yard when Utopia was still "hull 667".
I even was given permission to make photographs in the yard, but I'm not allowed to show them online.
I was told then (apart from the sad story about the fairly young owner who slipped on the soap in his bath) that a lot of the hull design, and part of the superstructure were inspired by Wedge 2.
If you put the 2 designs next to each other you can see the resemblance.

    But I like thin ladies

Yes Utopia is not too wide in the beam, but her interior is fantastic. I just wrote a feature on it. You don't experience the width because of teh styling. Clever old folks Redman Whiteley Dixon.
