We're planning a major refit of a North Sea trawler and I have been looking online to find more info on switchboard manufacturers. The only one I really run into consistantly is Atlas Marine Systems (obviously the only web-aware manufacturer).

While they seem to have good products, I always like to get user feedback and compare so wonder if anybody can comment on their experiences with Atlas products or other manufacturers.

We plan to have three 55-65 KW Northern Light generators on board, want paralleling, some non-preferencial switches, but too much fancy automatization is not really required (like where generators start automatically when load reaches a certain limit).

    Any feedback is welcome.

You can also try the following companies:

Wards Marine Electric, Fort Lauderdale, FL
Island Marine Electric, Fort Lauderdale, FL
    IPS, Jacksonville, FL
Kilo-Pak (Reagan Equipment), New Orleans, LA
    Bass Products
    Cantalupi Electric, Viareggio, IT
    Comar Electric, Vancouver, BC
    Tijssen Elektro, NL

All have "canned" switchgear designs which can easily handle the described application. We have good working relationships with all the above, PM me if you want contact names at any of the listed companies.

    Cheers, Mark

I have had a few dealings with IPS. A great product and very good tech support.
