Hamburg, 25th January 2005 Mega-yacht ECSTASEA anchored for substantial modernisation and conversion works at Blohm + Voss Repair in Hamburg. On the 19th January 2005, the 86m-long mega-yacht ECSTASEA moored at the Blohm + Voss Repair quays for substantial modernisation and conversion works for approx. three months. The modernisation and conversion works primarily concern the owner’s cabin of the mega-yacht which was delivered by Feadship van Lent in the Netherlands in 2004. The substantial conversion works will take place in close cooperation with the specialists of Blohm + Voss Repair and “Blue Ocean Yacht Management“ – the operator of the yacht – under the guidance of Neil Wade.
I think the words chosen in the press release were a result of converting German to English... and it got a little distorted in the process.
She has a new owner. Philip Starck Design Pelorus looks really like a WWII u-boot. Blohm & Voss was the major builder of U-Boote, for the German Kriegs Marine. Who could better build a ship with the exterior of Pelorus? If that's the correct name.
Ecstasea and Pelorus aren't the same ship. (Or am I misreading what you're saying?) And when did Roman A. sell Ecstasea? And to whom?
I am talking about two different ships. Re: Roman A.'s Feadship. Mentioning names as to ownership is "not done" - even if 'publicly known' . The change of ownership is released by Blohm & Voss themselves. My colleague picked it up. Be not surprised if Mr A. orders, or had already ordered another yacht. It is indeed very unusual that a recent launch of this volume goes to one of the main competitors of Feadship. The tradition of Blohm & Voss as well as Feadship Van Lent leaves nothing to imagination. Not very easy to guess what happened here....
I think you mean the new 118m SIGMA insteed of PELORUS. Do you know anything about her ownership? By the way I doubt that Mr. A sold Ecstasea.
I would be more interested to know if they are going to remove the center turbine on Ecstasea or what will be done to her, than who are the possible owners of other yachts...
Conversion Ecstasea in the latest M&Y Magazine i read that Blohm& Voss is the specialist for the propulsion called CODAG Propulsion. I think that is also a reason for docking at B&V. I also think that talking about the who is who in the owner scene is not really a discussion thread in Carls Forum. We all should be happy that there are some owners outside who are innovative and willing to show us the most interesting yachts we have ever seen. We also should thank the Captain and owner trying to help to carry Mirabella from the rocks. The Crew got an award for this.
