  1. Horizon debuts EP69 model in the United States

Horizon EP69 long range expedition yacht has gained high reputation when she presented in Europe and Australia, and following the success, Horizon decided to introduce the popular EP69 to her next target market – the Americas by attending Seattle Boats Afloat Show.

Lex Mitchell of Emerald Pacific Yachts, Horizon’s dealer in West Coast since 2003, reported “The new EP69 drew potential buyers from a couple of areas. One, of course, is the group that dreams of going long distances in their Expedition yacht. Many saw the EP69 as a step up from the traditional competitors in this arena and many remarked how the boat was finished more like a yacht with big yacht systems and finish and joinery work. They were attracted by the fact that the EP69 could cruise easily at 10.5-11 knots while many so called trawlers only reach 7.5 knots. This was seen as a huge advantage!”

“The other group that was attracted were those folks who currently own a large yacht but they see their current boat as having high operating costs (namely high fuel burn), and they voiced that they could live with the 9-11 knot cruise and like the comfort and safety of twin engines and hydraulic stabilizers. Many noted that if one really wanted to stretch the range that the EP could just sip fuel at 7 knots like the slower trawlers. They appreciated not only the peace of mind that having two engines brings but also the ease of maneuvering in tight marinas.” said Lex.
