Cablemaster issue

    Having a issue here I haven't seen before and thought I might throw it out and see if anyone has any suggestions on where to go. Specifics are cmp7 unit mounted on a 53 azimut. Original problem with unit was cord was jumping the guide rollers and cutting the cable on the drive plates. Upon inspection and tech support from manufactor it was found that cable installed wasn't thick enough for unit causing cord to jump out of wheel and rollers. (No plastic adjustment bushings between drive wheels). Replaced cord and rollers + added plastic bushings as required. Issue now is that cord set doesn't seem to want to pay into drum correctly after fully paying out to stop collar. Cord was hand feed into drum to insure no tangles or binding and stop collar was then set. Seems to be working 90% of the time. Any thoughts.

    Let it all out straight. Like down the dock or pier. If it does not naturally lay flat, there are twist in it.
    Twist the cable to remove the snake coils.

    Now that it is laying flat, let the sun warm it up a while, then with a helper watching the collector drum, slowly recall the cord ensuring it twist and stacks in the collector with smooth coils.
    The cable now may want to twist as you feed it and you need to help that by again twisting it in the direction it wants to roll.

    Once it's all in let it cool. next morning it should work like a champ.

    Every couple of years we have to do this for some customers up here during a cable inspection and cleaning service.
