“Want” to consider a 63 in the 2005-2010 range and have heard issues regarding hull delamination. Anyone with real knowledge on the issue, specific years involved, qualified technicians to inspect properly and what that method may be - not just a dude with a rubber mallet Appreciate any assistance
The delamination issues were well documented on YF. Within the threads below you will find the exact years. 2005 to 2010 is the right timeframe. https://www.yachtforums.com/threads/catastrophic-delamination-on-a-new-bertram-63.10591/ https://www.yachtforums.com/threads/bertram-630-sportfish-sinks.12434/ https://www.yachtforums.com/threads...nderwater-pictures-of-sunk-bertram-630.12624/
There were other issues internally also, Engine mounts and/or stringers coming free from the hull insides, comes to mind in some of them. Maybe some good news, If your looking at a hull with some hours on it, it may be a good one with no issues. A team of surveyors will be required to protect your investment. Think of it this way; Built on a Monday (after a hangover) or on a Friday (looking forward to another hangover). Your surveyors will help identify if it was another Great Bertram built those other days.
Yes, they're very real. I ran a 57' that was almost brand new that had all the bulkheads delaminating back in 2005. I knew of about 12 63's and 8 57's that had delamination issues back then, most pretty serious.
