I have a 2005 Sea Ray 390 Motoryacht, and due to all the crab pots around here I do a lot dodging. The question is (and I've received a bunch of different answers) while the auot pilot is engaged, is it OK to spin the wheel quickly which temorarely changes your course? Is this injurious to the system? ( As you know, turning it slowly has no effect.) I find it much quicker to alter course in this way, since the auto pilot is slightly out of reach. (Those crab pots come up quick in 2-3 footers!)

    Thanks for any help.
