    I have a 2 piece St Croix lifting davit up front to lift my 9' inflatable (with an 8footer its even easier). I keep a 2 hp in my dockbox that sits at the back of my cockpit and provids a nice seat and storage. The 2hp weights about 25lbs I think. I can set up in about 10 minutes and close up in about 15 - its just part of the adventure. If I' really lazy, I just drag the inflatable behind me when I pick up anchor, and when I get back to the dock, simply lift it onto the foredeck

    I'm guessing the dogs can handle a kayak or paddle board ride to the beach. :)

    Why don't you try fitting your tender to the transom. There are various practical ways and different types of transom davits.
