Hi, I'm looking to take my STCW and I've found a school in Fairhaven, MA called Northeast Maritime Institute. Are any of you familiar with this school and the quality of their courses? I live in Connecticut so this seems to be my best bet, but their course is $1,275. I'm just curious if this is the average around the country and so on. Thanks a bunch

    accreditation

Always ensure the college or school is accredited by the flag administration to conduct STCW training before you shell out lots of money.

Some schools are not accredited, and your certificates would be worthless if obtained at these establishments.

Check first, and spend your money wisely.

Just a quick reply, Northeast Maritime Institute is actually a great school with lots of different courses. So far, I've taken the STCW as well as OUPV upgrade to 100 ton courses from them. Great school if you are in the New England area.
