  1. First Amels 212 LIMITED EDITIONS Launched Ahead of Schedule

Emerging into the light is the first LIMITED EDITIONS AMELS 212, the largest yacht yet produced in the Dutch shipyard’s LIMITED EDITIONS series. With the yacht just weeks from completion and set for delivery well ahead of schedule, the beautiful lines of this 65.5m design are becoming clear to see. The sculpted, feminine form of the AMELS 212 demonstrates why Tim Heywood is in such high demand today, while Andrew Winch’s interior complements the Heywood exterior perfectly. She is planned to be displayed by AMELS at the 2011 Monaco Yacht Show.

At 1503 Gross Tons, this first AMELS 212 features two VIP cabins on the bridge deck, each with sliding-window access to a private balcony. A centrally-located glass elevator makes for easy and elegant access to all parts of the yacht, including the ‘wet feet’ bar on the sun deck and the large Beach Club located at the stern. There is ample storage for a range of beach toys and also for two 8.5m tenders.

The delivery of this first AMELS 212 is one of 10 projects under construction. The yard in Vlissingen is buzzing with activity and operating at 100% capacity. AMELS is the exclusive yacht-building member of the Dutch DAMEN Shipyards Group, the largest shipyard in the Netherlands, consisting of more than 34 shipyard companies throughout the world. DAMEN, a family owned company, employs over 6,700 people, delivered 150 vessels in 2009 and has an annual turnover of approximately €1.4 billion.
