At the private showing held over the last two days at Damen Yachting, a new 74-meter was present alongside. We believe this is the 74-meter "SYNTHESIS"is the 5th LE242 hull. She was launched back in March 2020 and will be delivered in the near future to her owner. The exterior is by Tim Heywood as you would expect while the interior is by Winch Design. SYNTHESIS will have a top speed of 16.5-knots and a cruising range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12.5-knots. There is provision to sleep up to 12 guests with a crew complement of 18 plus the captain.
"Synthesis" has finally been delivered to her owner. Seems like this one took a while, longer than usual.
Production hasn't gone smoothly for many over the past year... even in areas and businesses that can work, supply chain disruptions have hampered getting work done.
In the video, there's a small but reasonably pronounced patch of discoloration on the hull, just above the water line before the interior structure begins. Is that exhaust fouling?
If you are referring to the dark coating on the hull that is on the garage door yes that is exhaust soot. Quite common, keeps the crew busy keeping that part of the hull clean.
"Synthesis" recently arrived in Gibraltar from the Caribbean... here is a look back to her in the Caribbean.
Tuesday 28 November, 74-meter "Synthesis" departs Oceanco, having completed an intense eight-week period of works provided by the company’s Life Cycle Support team. "After a busy summer season spanning from the Med to the Canadian Arctic, Synthesis arrived to Oceanco for a substantial audio upgrade along with a comprehensive maintenance schedule, which was completed within the time frame available to us before departing for the Caribbean."
