I’m looking for a new dinghy and I’m tired of leaking inflatables. Anyone run a 12’ aluminum vee hull as a dinghy?

I thought the OP wanted to get away from anything inflatable? There were a few companies making aluminum chambered boats awhile ago but I don’t know if any of them are still around.

+/- 12' very stable, nothing deflatable
Might help if you're down under...

I find that most alu v hull boats like Lund, Alumacraft, Lowe, Tracker and the like are not that short, 12". They seem to be 16' minimum. The only 12' alu boats I see are Jon boats so no v hull and certainly not a viable tender.

@Fishsail does it have to be aluminium?

There are several options in GRP e.g. Boston whaler, Carolina skiff, etc that are robust, decently stable at that size and may give the performance you're looking for.
