Hi People. As some of you know I worked for 4 of the best yacht companies around. I am no longer in that field ans am stuck on a small project I am working on. I have to design a 6 point mooring sytem for a VERY large yacht. The design is done but the presentation is crying out for an isometric view. I have NO artistic values at all so doing this free hand is not possible. Does ANYONE have a CAD isometric view of a mega Yacht say, over 120 metres? A pdf of the boat will do as long as the pdf is taken STRAIGHT from the cad Model. Preferably AutoCAd as that is how low I have sunk last few years. Solidworks, Microstation..All good.. Hope to hear from someone in near future..Nice to be back..:)

Is the yacht designed ? Perhaps obtain cad info from the designers ?
Last resort...how about getting a digital photo of a yacht of similar size and shape at the right angle, importing the picture into acad as a bitmap (is it bitmaps in acad these days ?) and drawing over the image to get your acad perspective yacht. Clutching at straws admittedly.
:) Seems odd though that something as prestigious as a 120m can get by with such a basic approach to its mooring arrangement design.

Thanks codog.. I am not in the yacht industry now. Actually Oil and Gas industry designing 350m FPSO's. Recently I did an arrangememnt for a side by side mooring and it went down well so the company that asked me to do the arrangememnt asked if we could do one for a yacht. It is normally done this way as its not a normal mooring for a yacht but this boat is much bigger than 120m . I am just not allowed to give any more info as the whole project is shrouded in secrecy and still in the early stages. The only reason I need an ISO is for the presentation of the arrangememnt and to make double sure the design of the mooring is well understandable by all that see it. It is not a first but it is BIG. Already tried a foto to pdf and converting..LOL.. Flop! It is only the time involved in tracing over a bit map that puts me off doing that. Someone somewhere will have a pdf from cad. I can wait.:) Thanks
