What 68' Hatteras? Sportfish, motoryacht? What year range are you looking at, because 68' does not ring a bell with me at all and I've run tons of Hatteras.

I've run lots of different Hatteras, but never a 68' SF. I'll ask a friend of mine who I believe has run one.

I have run several 68 Hatteras SF with open bridge and enclosed. Great boat and exceptional ride. They were not very fast, 26-28 knot cruise. Everyone wants 40 knots now

I just ran one for a seatrial last week, and just remembered I ran another one before but only at slow speeds. The boat is a VERY big 68' SF. But it's also slow and thirsty. The one I ran was a tower boat with 1800 HP C 32's, open bridge, it cruised at 26 knots. Topped out at 30.X knots. I didn't play with the trim tabs as it was only a seatrial with mechanics for engine survey, so might get another 1-2 knots out of it. It rode well and was very stable.

Ha! Good question. The nom de plume is Peter Herm I believe as the scribe style matches perfectly in published articles. What say u OB? :)

After Googling Peter Herm, I did conclude I'm not him. I'm not anyone in the industry although we do manage our own boats and those of family but no outside customers and no business interests. Just another business man gone wrong into major boating.

Haven't met, haven't introduced, have seen you at a show. Have read nearly all of your excellent web site. Do know several people who know you well and speak highly of you. You're a public figure. I remain an unknown. Have even sent someone your way along the way. Even if we met, I'd never connect the dots for you. Privacy is very important to us, especially online.
