There is a newbuild well underway at the Yay Gemi Yapim yard in Turkey. The name of this newbuild is the Nourah Of Riyad and she is set for launching in April of 2008. This megayacht of 65M, was concieved and started construction even before the the yard was fully completed. According to the Yapim yard, they "started their first project even before constructing the shipyard in early September 2005." Following the pre-manufacturing build was completed in what they called "a rented shed", the hull was finished section after section in a steel workshop at Yay Gemi. The 65M long Nourah of Riyad is a product of the experienced and well famed designer, Donald Starkey. As is the common practice, this particular newbuild will have a steel hull with an aluminum superstructure. *** A launch in April is expected providing the technicalities are on stream. The "Nourah of Riyad" recently came out of refit where she was significantly lengthened. Before, the Middle Eastern superyacht was around 65-meters LOA now she is 70-meters. Other modifications were made as well including a glassed-in enclosure on the sundeck. Under the waterline she was also modified with the addition of a bulbous bow.
