Maldwin can probably shed more light on this refit, but in my eyes it was about the best I've ever seen, like it was transported forward in time from 1960-something (1969 I think!); as new as the day it was delivered to its original owner.

Sorry if we didn't gather details like we normally do for a YF review. On this day, we were...

Right you are, Forum Master. Don't be fooled: there were a bevy of beauties of all types at the event. Just a shame I didn't get any shots of the other kind.

Here's a real yacht for the Rogue thread.

I think we've found our new mascot for the Rogues thread. Send me the hi-res on that when you get a chance. I remember seeing Rogue, but it was too far away for my stubby little 18-55 lens.

    What happened to the outboards?

Outboard powered? Can you please supply some support for this statement?

Francis Langford's husband was Ralph Evinrude, as in outboard motors. Get it?

As this vintage weekend included automobiles, let's break from the floaties for a bit and show you some of the classic rollers.

There is an open viewing area where the fine autos were parked for review, but the party started with a parade and an emcee announcing each vehicle and its pedigree.

Here's a Pontiac Star Chief. Not sure of the vintage.

Okay you car aficionados and old-timers alike. What type of vehicle is this from?

It's a Micro Bus. A boom system resonating from the trunk and more boom from the exhaust. It's rumored that it can also pop a wheelie. I think standing on the rear bumper would do the same thing.

I realize this is a yachting website so we'll bring the yachts back shortly.

I'll bet that you didn't get Maldwin into the engine room for a look :D
Thanks for posting the photos! This is the first year that I've missed in a while so I've been waiting anxiously to see some photos, since I spoke with your host yesterday.

She is CHIEFTAIN, a 36 ft 1959 Rybovich, refit by Mike Rybovich for a country singer who has restored many classics to perfection. The other Rybovich is LEGEND, which is the oldest Rybovich extant as hull number 1 is no longer afloat.
    Best,

Great photos, great work guys! I have never been to Vintage Weekend. I really must get there. Perhaps next year there may be in attendance a newly acquired 46' Whiticar?

I see a YF gathering on a Whiticar in the future. Hmmmm!

We may actually plan to participate for two days next year. We didn't even get to the airport to get close and personal with the vintage birds. We had to admire them from afar ('cause they were up there, and we were down here).
