This is a framed picture in the guest suite. According to the captain, Chanticleer was engineered to support a helicopter on the aft deck. I was a bit surprised to see this picture because birds of the era (circa 1973) were nowhere near the weight of current generation rotorcraft, such as the Aerospatiale Twinstar pictured here. Weight isn't the only issue with things that whirl either. Vibration is a factor too...

I'm leaving this thread open for Tom Serio to post a few pics. Tom, please post at 800 pixels, one picture per post because this will revert to review format when finished.

Wow! A very cool event. Where else will you see vintage yachts, cars, and planes at the same gathering? I ditched the Saturday home duties and spent the day admiring the beauty that age can bring (I was wiping the drool from my face like an old man).
Special "Thank You" to Maldwin for being a very gracious host, and to Carl for another opportunity to share what we see with you.

To add on a few shots of Chanticleer, here's the deck from the forepeak.

I've grown an affinity to things that are shiny, reflective and pose a challenge to shoot. The trick is to get a good photo without you being in the photo.
Here's Chanticleer's deck hardware, spiffed up for the show. Neat nameplate on the bell.

Just as reflective as her chrome is the finish on her hull. Kudos to Capt Paul and his crew.

M/Y Loose, is a 75', 1974 Burger. Her owners use her extensivley so when you step aboard, you feel like you are home.

M/Y Loose - wheelhouse. Some older electronics, but hey, if they still work, what the heck.

You can really step back in time when boarding M/Y Diane, a 1958, 75' Burger. Her interior will take you back a generation while maintaining a classy, warm feel.

One of a pair of 6-cylindar Detroit Diesels that gets Diane to a 13-know cruise.
This yacht must also be a dream to work on as there's plenty of room around the systems for access. And if you can't get at a system, cut a hole in the side as she is made of steel.

We'll close with a view of a very tempting lounge area. Take in the breeze, sun and a cold one from the fore deck.

Not to be outdone by the other Burger Yachts and without a need to be a "hot dog" (sorry, had to get that in there at least once), M/Y Victorian Rose recently was refitted, no, actually rebuilt by her current owner. Coming in at 63', this 1963 edition still maintains her charm from years ago but with newer systems.

Her brightwork sparkles in the morning Key Largo sunshine.
