Here's the broker's display sign on that Broward. Still looks like a Denison!

Ironically, THIS Denison was docked on the opposite side of that Broward in question... "Las Olas".

And while we're on the subject of Expeditions, here's "Dardanella". It's a 122 footer built by Vitters. Construction is aluminum and built to Lloyds specs. It weighs 211 tons and is powered by twin Cat 3406 diesels (450 horsepower). Top speed is a blistering 13.5 knots. ;)

    On the Denison vs Browards...

Yes, they are not easy to separate and I was mistaken myself since i didn´t notice the cockpit extension. The Broward I guessed on was also at the show with IYC and is a sistership without cockpit...

I have to add, the interior of Dardanella is really top class. You must see it to believe it!! :)

Agreed! I went onboard. While she is truly rugged, in classic expedition style, she is pure luxury yacht inside!

Actually, speaking of expedition styled yachts, the Schweers MARGAUX ROSE was certainly one of the earlier ones but do remember that MARGAUX ROSE was based on and a further evolution of an even earlier Gilgenast design, the "F-100" designed for the late Giovanni Agnelli. The trawler like looks for the wheelhouse design that is so typical for todays expedition style was used by Gilgenast on "F-100".

UTOPIA also graced Port Hercule during the 14th Monaco Yacht Show last September

Nice pictures Chris! I hope you don't mind, but I've reduced your Utopia pics to 540 pixels wide, which is the uniform size we are striving to maintain. The reason is because people that have 19" monitors or smaller will have to scroll sideways. Another reason is because large files really slow down the download time for dial-up users.

By the way... your pictures are always exceptional. What kind of camera are you using? Currently, I'm using a Canon S400, but there are newer cameras with higher megapixels releasing and I need to upgrade.

    Thanks!

No problem with the resized photos Carl !

As for a camera I'm still using my today older getting Minolta Dimage 7i that I'm thinking of replacing with either a Nikon D70 or a Canon EOS 20D.

Good choices! The D70 and the 20D were the top of my list. I like the smaller body dimensions of the Canon, but was hoping for an SLR with a larger display. Even the new pocket-size digitals have larger dispays than the SLR's! Might have to wait a while... :(

M/V Bart Roberts was supposed to be at the show. Did you happen to see it? Thoughts?

Noticed she has been SOLAS de-classed due to overdue survey. Down to $15 MM ask form original $35 whats up here?

    Carl,
You might want to take a look at Nikon's new 10.2 megapixel D200:

And technology forges ahead! 10.2 Megapixels with a 2.5" LCD display. VERY nice. Has a MEGA-pixel price too. ;)

    Thanks Arnie!
