Another great expedition is the Palmer Johnson -"Turmoil". This yacht may have been one of the first to start the expedition trend...

And as we bring this cruise to an end, I thought I would save the best for last. We were graced with the presence of Feadship's "Utopia" at the 17th Street Marriot.

Thanks for the tour! Nice to see a number of old and new "friends".
Your supposed "Denison" is the 1990 103´Broward Taipan. ;)
The nice trawler seems to be a Northern Marine. The PJ built Turmoil is a good looking expedition vessel, but I think the yacht that started the trend of new construction in this style was the 1988 Schweeers built 150´Margaux Rose. Designed by the late Gerard Gilgenast with interior of John Munford. She was later lengthened at Abeking & Rasmussen and is now dark blue under the name of Shandor.
She has a single engine MAK 2300 hp and a range of 7.000 nm, helipad on the bow originally used as a launch pad for her hot air balloon. She also has an elevator coming up in the "funnel". The pictures are of her as originally built and with the 10 feet extension and many other mods....

    OK... I missed one! :p

I was on three hours of sleep when I uploaded the pics. But I have to admit, being a Broward owner... I should have known that one! Still, it looks more like a Denison to me. Going to get some much needed sleep now.

BTW... Shandor is a seriously sharp little freightor. Thanks for sharing!

    Good night all...
