The day has come for someone else's ship to come in! New job has taken all my time and the guilt of letting our Roamer sit for a year untouched has made me decide to let her geaux....

Geaux Coastal is officially for sale to a good home

    Stats:

    1964 56' Roamer CC $50,000.00
    Located in New Orleans Louisiana

    All original with the following recently completed;
    • Entire Hull sandblasted, primed and painted
    • All new cutlass bearings, stuffing boxes
    • Rudders removed, new cutlass bearings and packing gland
    • Steering linkage removed, rebuilt and replaced
    • Twin V871’s lifted, new engine mounts replaced
    • New alternators
    • Sea Strainers removed, all metal sandblasted, primed, painted and replaced
    • All through Hull fittings inspected, replaced as needed
    • Original Carpet was removed; existing flooring was primed, resealed for new carpet
    • 32V system fully functional, all lights, accessories function

    What’s left?

    • A very small amount of Teak needs to be replaced on the Forward deck starboard side which lead to some interior (non structural) rot of the mahogany around the forward windows (common on Roamers of this age)
    • Exterior of cabin and superstructure could use some paint
    • Carpet in salon, galley, crew quarters, aft guest stateroom and main stateroom
    • The headliner has a small tear near the Helm that needs repair.
    • Generator runs great however due to a reverse polarity situation (shore power was connected when the Genny was started) it is only producing 60 volts

    NolaCoaster,

Please read YF's rules before posting again. Our max image size is 640 pixels. I have reduced the size of your Roamer in a sling to meet our guidelines.

    Attention all Roamer enthusiasts:

The scrap yard is calling and we are considering scrapping our aluminum Roamer. Any reasonable offer will keep her from becoming a beer can.
If you want a well preserved, running Roamer. Dig up that coffee can in the back yard and bring your cash cause my wife wants it gone!
