      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I bought a used 2002 Cabo 35 express that was repowered in 2022.  Going thru all the manual I found one that is for engine room/bilge fan.   I’m away from the boat but do not recall seeing switches or anything for this.   Does anyone know if this 35 should have those fans?  Also, what to do with the engine room filters.  Remove, replace, clean and re-install???   It say remove and clean every 50 hours.  One is completely destroyed not even in place and the other is damaged.   Thank you]]></content:encoded>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[On my 40&#039; Cabo convertible, I recently removed my engine room air filters to wash them out and would like to find replacement or possibly just make new ones. The filter assembly frames are plastic/StarBoard type material stapled together with a scotch bright type mesh between.<br />

They probably simply keep the salt spray out of the engine room, however the staples are starting to rust and some of the frames are cracked, so if I end up making new ones, I will either fasten them together or epoxy...<br />

I have seen newer Cabo 40&#039;s that have the over/under drawer type.  My Cabo is a 2005.  Anyone have any info on what units Cabo used on the newer models? I know the tank is forward of the engine room and aft of the bilge access in the cabin, under the head.  The only access I can find to the tank is inside the sink cabinet in the head, but the sender in not in that location.  Any thoughts?  Could it be under the head?  if I removed it?  Does not look like there is any access there to me. No access panel under the companion way stair in the deck.  Hate to just...<br />

There must be some access through the cabin steps?  Even if I remove the holding tank and squeeze in there, with all the hose connections, there’s no way it’s sliding forward. <br />

Looking at the water schematics for the boat, in the manual, it would appear that you could hook shore water up to the fresh water wash down faucet in the cockpit and pressurize everything while bypassing the fresh water pump?  The manual states not to do so for high pressure reasons could damage internal pipes, but was wondering if a reducer installed on my hose leading to the boat would suffice?   Seems odd...<br />

To me there is nothing better than sitting at the helm on the bridge and listening to the C12s at cruise.  I have to admit it is a bit louder on the bridge when compared to my previous boats. <br />

When the boat comes off/on plane the aft bildge pump discharge hole goes below the water line and about two quarts of water come bubbling out of the pump itself.  My question is what&#039;s broken? Is the pump itself a check valve or should there be a separate one installed? If I need to install a check valve what&#039;s the best location? At the pump or at the discharge?<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I have a 2005 Cabo 40 convertible with caterpillar C12&#039;s.  The attached photo is of a Cabo 40 with MAN&#039;s showing the fuel gauge  repeater on the bridge.   On my bridge this is where the caterpillar sync controller is installed and there is no fuel gauge anywhere else on the bridge. <br />

So for a Cabo 40 convertible with Cat&#039;s, where is the fuel gauge repeater or does the data from the tank sender feed into the Cat displays?]]></content:encoded>

I noticed that the generator exhaust is &quot;dry&quot; when it exits boat port-side amidship.  I immediately shut down generator believing it was not pumping water but was later told it exits under boat as to create a &quot;vacuum&quot; while underway?   Westerbeke 12.8 on a 40 Csbo convertible..<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I noticed a rust stain on the port outboard side under the cockpit fishbox so removed fishbox.   The large exhaust cylinder appeared to have a screw in the lower rear portion of the cylinder probably to drain water where freezing is an issue.  My guess.  The stainless screw (sm bolt) has just about rusted through and cannot easily be removed.  Going to put a patch of 3m 5200 over it to stop dripping and in case screw rusts out completely it won&#039;t leak.  In reviewing the 3m5200 specs it says...<br />

Had CSR in Seattle give the bottom a heavy sanding and 2 coats of Cukote while concurrently glassing in the new thruster tube. Once the tube was finished and the motor was mounted we headed back to the shed and after work this week I spent each evening working on the electrical and rigging. Finished up this evening and gave it a quick test tied up at the dock. Looking forward to going out and filling up with fuel tomorrow and giving the...<br />
