That's a lot of yacht for the C & D. I'm surprised she didn't run the ocean from Norfolk.

Welcome to Yacht Forums Kevin. Thanks for the picture of Itasca. I have not seen an active photo of her in quite sometime.

Rainbow was her project name. She was finally named AIR. However, shortly afterwards she was resold to a well Russian and renamed to ICE, her current name.

    Welcome to YF Hiloliving!!!!

She is a one off, built in Turkey. One of the radical design exercises, which did not result in neither technical, nor esthetical achievement. As to my knowledge, even after a decade she still has technical problems and has never achieved the speed she was designed for.

Thank you Nilo. Pity that it did not work as it was intended.

Looks a little like Moon Goddess:

Maybe she was the inspiration for Danish Yacht?

Absolutely, and the yacht in post #46 above is not. The original idea for the design of Moon Goddess was published around 1997 when (if I recall right) Espen Oeino had it as a project with Marco Pinna at Intermarine in Italy.

They sure remind of each other, but I can not say who was first..?

Hello, first time poster (although I have loved reading these forums over the last year).

My Girlfriend and I were attending the San Diego Yacht and Boat show last weekend on Harbor Island (San Diego, CA). When we were leaving we found this yacht floating in the middle of the channel. There were lots of people stopping and taking pictures of this yacht and we snapped one.

I want to say this is the Attessa from the original post, but I could have swore this yacht (pictured) had a light gray hull.

I appologize for the low quality of the picture, but it was taken from a 1.3 megapixel cell phone camera.

    Thank you for any info!

    Hi and welcome to YF!

The yacht pictured is the Feadship Attessa. She was called Lady Aviva prior to an extenisve refit. In this refit she was stretched by 20 feet at the stern and had an extra deck added. In addition, she also recieved a helipad where you see the helo sitting.

She also had many external cosmetic changes as well as interior work done. If you want to see more, here is a thread on her from early in this thread!

Thank you very much for the welcome and the link to the other thread. The pictures taken of her in the "Attessa III" thread are absolutely beautiful. I can't get over that the builders were able to streatch her 20 feet!

    what boat is this?

    Hi Guys,

I am sure several of you will know what this boat is, it was at Mackinaw Island in Michigan last weekend.

It looks to me like a Delta 124 but not exactly so I am not completely sure. I could not make out the name from where I was.

    Thanks,

You are correct about the Delta yard, she is the 131' CV-9. That looks like Mackinac Island Harbor.

Located on a lake in the Carolinas, where pontoon boats with Skoal-spittin' Nascar fans are more prevalent then South Florida's bikini-laden, gold chain wearin' wannabes in boats made to compensate for shortcomings... this rare old bird was caught exceeding the speed limit of most electric boats from its era. First person to identify it gets a YF polo shirt that hasn't been made yet...
