1996 Ocean Yachts 48 MY cockpit water pump location

    I just purchased a 1996 Ocean Yachts MY cockpit and I can't locate the fresh water pump to replace it .
    When powered it pops the breaker.
    Any guidance would be much appreciated.

    Which breaker ?
    115 v ac
    Or
    12 v dc breaker ?

    My 96 sportfish fresh water pump is under the galley floor, it's a 120 volt well pump.

    115 breaker
    My floor is carpeted and I didn't notice a hatch but the carpet has to come up anyway so I will check for it.

    I would think is in the engine room….
    Hmmm….should have easy access to it.
    Check under the dinette seats if you have them….
    Lift up the cushions and there’s hatches usually under the seats …
    It’s a big pump since it’s 115v.
    They have impellers that needs servicing also.
    That being said check under all cushions/mattress and look for an access hatch till you find it.
    Also trace water lines to lead you to it.

    Well everybody thanks for all the input. I first checked under the dinette seat and there was a small compartment but it was not there.
    One of the previous owners had screwed the cushions down seems they were happy with the job the original velcro provided.

    There was success though Big Chief hit the location on the head . After pulling up the tacked down carpet in the galley there was a hatch with the pump and all the relevant plumbing connections in it,

    Thanks guys for the input it is nice to see a bunch of people willing to help.

    Big Chief I have the boat at Ryans Marina in Bridgeport its in between my shop in Stratford and my house in Fairfield.

    This post is little off subject, but related. My 42 has the same compartment under the galley floor. My freshwater pump, Galley Maid macerator pump, Y valve to holding tank, access to shower sump pump and drain hoses from head, galley sinks and one bilge pump that connect to a side hull through hull fitting and of course extra storage for adult beverages are in there. In your post you said new to me boat. I must assume you had the boat surveyed. The surveyor did not know about the compartment. What else was in there when you opened it up?
