I’m installing Air Seps in my 1988 46’ Post. The fuel fill line need to be re-routed a bit for clearance for the air sep...and yea it’s tight on other side..but works. my thought is to cut the copper, add a piece of Trident Fuel Fill Hose to bridge the few 4-6 inches I need to reroute, double clamp, tie wrap as necessary and be done. I would consider having someone come and braise in a piece of copper and two sleeves, but in review it appears the outcome isn’t much different and the safety factor ends up the same as the copper now has fuel hose sleeves on both ends. any thoughts or things I’m missing?
At least you had copper pipe. Our 1980 had sat for a bit before our purchase and the very first fuel up was a challenge. Post used galvanized pipe and black iron 90's, which were perforated.
Still have all the original galvanized pipe (and fuel tanks) in my 76. On the list but seems like a massive job.
My pipes were galvanized, the elbows were black pipe and rusted through. I eliminated them. Put the fills in the cockpit directly over the tank ports. Made it easy to fill, no spills and easy to stick the tanks for fuel levels.
Not that I can find and we don't have the boat anymore. I removed the tank fills from the gunnels and used them.
I feel like I would have to cut out the galvanized pipe and my post is a gasser - can that even be done without risking a fire / explosion .. I feel kind of stuck with what I’ve got. Maybe there’s a solution I’m not thinking about.
The airseps fit in my 46 post without mods to the fuel fill. I have alot of copper in the boat, everything from domestic water, to gen exhaust, to fuel fill
