I just purchased a 1993 330 Mariner, this is the first boat that I have no idea where to place the TV antenna??? It has a cable jack on the back wall of the cabin above perko switch, even a jack in aft cockpit...
Anyone know where the cable goes or any advice where to mount the antenna and find the other end of the coaxial?
No signs of Antenna in the past.
    Thanks, First Carver...

in my experience there are marina's with a cable hook up on the dock

I would assume this is what the previous owners had used.

    Hi

The CATV port in the stern are for the marina CATV hook up.
If the marina has CATV you're set.

Our marina does not have CATV.
We've had pretty great luck with radio shack 120 volt amplified digital HD antennea.
I think it cost less than $ 20.00.

The boat had a Co-Ax cable on the bridge already for an old antennea.
I was able to re-use this cable for the new Radio Shack antennea.

The boat is in a shed and about 20 some miles from the nearest city that has a TV station.
We get more channels now than when we had analogue antennea and before digital was in the picture,,,, so to speak.

The radio shack antennea is not mounted to anything and it is not meant to be mounted to anything.
It is meant to sit on top of a set like the old rabbit ears.
We don't use it alot so I stow it in the bridge console and set it on the top of the console when we want it.

R.S. also sells little Co-Ax switches that I have near the TV so I can switch from the antennea to the CATV port on the rear deck if we are in a marina with cable.

So, look around on your bridge, maybe there is a CATV cable or port there.

    Good luck.

TV Network on Carver Mariner 330

Thanks! That might be an option, just use an antenna when we need one? I guess the coaxial jack on the cockpit is to use marina cable (we don't have) or like you said use that with an amplified antenna. I cut off cable at the house because of the cost and use "rabbit ears" at my home also. Do you think there is a coaxial feed under the helm on the bridge?
Thanks for your reply, this is my first cruiser, have only had houseboats for the past 20 years...They are easy the carver is more a puzzel.
    Thanks again, regards.

    I agree with Ches46,
you really have to spend some time chasing wires and switches. every boat is different.

I have the same boat as Ches46 and it took me forever to figure out the TV antenna and cable system.

It turns out that i have a 3 way switch in the salon that swithes the TV from antenna (on top) to the cable input above the shorepower input. There is also a different splitter to the TV in the master.

When away from the dock i need to swith to the TV antenna on top. I dont have SAT TV.

Im aboard this winter, so we are hooked up to land cable TV.

FYI, i did have a friend that had a 33 carver that had a TV antenna under the bridge console.
