Cat 3406 or C15, I suppose. That's hands down the best piece of equipment of the whole boat, how come you must disembark it?
Anyway, don't take my word for this, but having in mind the boat design, I suspect you should disconnect the engine, slide it backward, and pull it out after dismantling the cockpit floor.
I very much doubt that they designed a large enough panel (or any panel at all, actually) anywhere inside the saloon.

Mapism , thanks for you input !
Don’t ask me why but the boat is bought less engines from factory and used as a house boat for many years , now the offered it for sale so I m looking for options everything else is in prop
Shafts , props , bow thruster , steering ect .
Only need engine and transmissions .
Due to COVID I can’t travel to find out myself so that s why I asked here
Dismantle the floor to get them in would not scare me as long as I don’t have to cut it and make some new hatch for it

    thx. Bor

That must be one of the boats partially built while the yard was going - or already was - bankrupt.
I'm very skeptic that by fitting engines and g/boxes you'll be good to go, anyway.
I know nothing about this particular boat, but based on what you are saying, and knowing the builder background, I'd rather expect her to need a thorough check (if not a full rebuild) of each and every other technical components: hydraulic, electric, tanks, thruster, rudders, pumps, you name it.
That would make for an epic rebuild thread with pics, though.
If you'll decide to go for it, let us know in advance, in order to stock enough popcorn!

Motors are put in before everything above it. So this had to be ordered without motors. Who does that and how much can the builders and workers care about a boat they expect to never move on its own? If I wanted a house boat or house barge there are just so many better and cheaper choices. Maybe it was built early on for tank testing the hull, in which case build integrity wouldn't factor into the thinking much. Unless the OP owns a yard and wants to get into building boats I can't see getting involved in something like this.

Aaah, but! What you are referring to is a normal boat build process.
Which has nothing to see with Aicon business, during their last years.
Back then, Aicon was a normal boatbuilder pretty much in the same way as Lehman was worth the rating that all the big three crooks gave them.

that’s one of my ideas aswell as nothing what you use while your boating so thats basicly never used from 2002 .
If it will come to a deal and project I certainly will open a “ popcorn “ thread here !

That was what I thought but was wondering if there maybe acces hatches underneath the flooring that can be unbolted .

I don’t owe a yard but I like do projects and redo boats have done several but all Powerboats , I now want a yacht for ourself to spend more time on the water and make longer trips as it’s now all day trips
I looked at this boat before but it’s was way to expensive now the price dropped but I think it’s still to expensive considering what engines and gearboxes cost and then checking all other things Maybe I just make a silly offer and see what they say as it’s gonna be very hard to sell I think

Evidently this hull was produced with the intention of not having motors and not cruising, and that's how she's been lived for 19 years. Better to find a 20 y.o. boat with blown motors who spent her life cruising.

You're much better off finding a running boat. As to say if there are access hatches, who knows what they did. Who knows how many or if any of the general operation systems are there: fuel tanks, steering, electrical etc. You could always plop some V12 Mercury outboards on the stern and a fuel tank on the aft deck!

The engines access and removal was on the aft deck. You remove the flooring of the aft deck and there goes your engines.
I was in Milazzo in 2007 and they changed two engines 800hp under warranty in a mornings work.

The fact that you did not find this alone might make you review your refit capabilities.

I also will follow Mapis M comments, something does not feel right with this Aicon. Considering the year. The not completed hulls where from 09-12.

Hi Liam, interesting to hear that, which pretty much confirms what I thought.

BTW, I am also aware of a Ferretti 57 (which was mostly built with MAN V8/800, but was also available with Cat) who had a pair of 3406 replaced under warranty, due to water ingestion - hence due to a problem with the exhaust system, more than with the engines per se.
Do you possibly know if this was the reason also with that Aicon?
Those engines had a pretty solid reputation overall, so I wonder if also for that Aicon the problem wasn't rather installation-related.
