    Uh Oh,, a Ford engine.
I had assumed wrongly Chevy. Sorry about that chief..
The little monsters I was bragging on in post #18 were Small Block Chevy's (SBC).

I remember the big Ford large blocks monsters Chris used. 427 (429?) cid I think. Owners luved them. Never worked on them. Feared they would eat me.
That was 3 lifetimes ago. Now days I ride the backs of another dinosaur, Detroits.

Alreds Marina in Guntersville used to have a good boneyard of old Chris Craft parts and pieces. I just looked through my pile of parts and found a couple of y block marine Fords but nothing for a big block. I'll make a couple of calls, I'm in central Alabama this week and not far from the Tennessee river.

All hail "Atlas" the finest 1966 Roamer Motor-yacht 48' on the Tennessee!
Like a true Roamer never let a little thing like engine trouble interrupt the voyage.
    Where is he now?
Did he ever find a new distributor??
    Enquirying minds want to know.
Best wishes from the gang in 2021, pandemic be dammed.
    Cheers!

Behold this thing of beauty that has arrived. I took a couple of days to rest and source parts. Atlas will depart Scottsboro Al. around the 22nd bound towards Decatur, Then on towards Kentucky lake. Notice the reverse cut on the dist. gear. I am having a machine shop make a few of these as I know someone else will have to problem at some point.

    Wild things that FOMOCO did.
The O ring gives it away as Ford, Above that looks like a Corvette distributor.

Hope all goes well. I have learned something new again. Thank you.

    Stay safe and well,

All systems working. still down port motor. It has been cold but heaters work good. Also have 200 lbs of propane just in case. I will post pics soon just pain have to resize. Fuel budget is blown. At mile marker 427 on the Ohio at Augusta KY.
Ship is handling great and tugs don't create a problem for it.
