What the heck is that thing on the port side... vents? How do cross your stern lines without the line rubbing on that black what ever it is. The cleat is too far forward. Sure there is a cleat down low but unusable for sternlines if you have a tender on the platform

    Great design

That Ocean Alexander 90 and the Horizon 85 seem pretty similar in layout and concept overall. I wonder who copied who in this case, or if both designers just "happened" to come up with the same idea. I am not a fan of the looks from the outside, but I suppose they both managed to try and fit the interior and exterior deck space of a 120 ft into something under 90 ft.

The Horizon designer was the first to market. I talked to an OA guy before the 90r was announced publicly and he was baffled when I showed him the Horizon has been out for a couple years and they are just launching this now. From the interior, the views were great from the 90r. The master bedroom was very spacious as well as the forward VIP with a lot of natural light. However, I just didn't see the quality there when comparing to a top name brand such as Hatteras or Viking. I've been on other OA's before that have felt better and maybe later hulls will be better received but this one didn't have a good sense of quality when I went through it especially compared to the Hatteras 90 or Viking 93.

I didn't go aboard the OA90, but Trinimax's assessment of the FD85 parallels my impressions. The volume was surprisingly spacious and although the layout appears to be a little funky at first, it actually works well (IMO).

I loved the fd85. The outside is very modern but the entire space is amazing. 5 staterooms and crew for four that is legit. 23 foot beams helps a lot! Amazing space planning.

Sorry I missed you at the show Danvilletim. I met with GermanYachting earlier in the day for a tour of Elandess and he mentioned he was meeting you that night on your boat. AIS had you on the north side of Bahia Mar. I walked all the docks between Bahia Mar and the Hall of Fame, but couldn't find your boat. Later learned you were up north of Las Olas.

Carl - I was looking forward to meeting you! Perhaps next time... but that will require buying another boat as we got multiple offers at the last day of the show. Might be a few years :)

I will say that there is a pretty insane after hour scene as as the show went on.....It seemed that about 10pm after all formal after parties were completed... things got fun. I haven't stayed up that late since college! Shots of vodka on a Oceanfast, random Westports, Ferrett'si and more. Fun mix of crew and owners partying in a way that would never happen in a normal situation. I invited four great friends from California and had so much fun. I think we are still recovering.

Seriously - If you are selling a boat... consider putting it in FLIBS and staying aboard because you will have some serious fun!

20 years of working boat shows and I've never stayed late enough to observe. The only time I've walked the docks at night is with Tom Serio to take night shots. Spoke with him yesterday. I think he'll be uploading pics to this thread in a few days.

We’ve taken deposits for seven 33’s. There are some 42 orders in the mix as well. It was a fantastic show for us.

It’s amazing how frequent these large center consoles swap out engines. Seems that most of the 40+ center consoles swap out engines as soon as they are out of warranty. And part of that decision is the very healthy market for used outboards. They are probably getting 30-50% of the new cost in resell.

The chances of 1 out of 4 having an issues are twice as much as if you had twins. I just worked out a trade for a customer to trade in 2-300 verados with 400 hours but needing $14k in work (300 hr service, trim rams, and steering rams) for a set of 2018 350hp verado demo motors with 67 hrs and full 5 year factory warranty for $26k installed with the old motors traded in.
