  1. Inaugural Horizon FD85 Completed
The first FD85 unit has been completed by Taiwanese yacht company Horizon Yachts. Horizon blended ultra-contemporary style lines with creative interior spaces that resulted in tremendous interior volume. Couple this with flexible cruising speeds and big boat amenities, and the owners have an cutting edge product that will see them well into the future. On looks alone, this craft defines a new category and scores Olympic style points!
  2. The yacht has comfortable guest spaces on three decks, the lower, main and sun deck but the latter is more-than-likely where many guests will tend to congregate as it has a sofa, bar, Jacuzzi and secondary helm control with gorgeous views all around. Forward of the bridge is also a nice area where it is secure by railings all around and has the option to be customized with a large sunpad.
  3. The flybridge/sundeck area is fairly spacious. Forward and off to the port side you will find the secondary helm station for navigation on weather friendly days or maneuvering in tight environment. A step to the right along the centerline will take you down into the bridge, so there is ease of access to and from the main navigation areas. Aft of the secondary helm station is an L-shaped sofa that is served by a table. Directly adjacent is a small bar with two seats; a perfect place for the libation-inclined, or gazing at the surroundings.
  4. On the main deck and perhaps one of the more sumptuous and stylish areas on the FD85 is the main saloon. A peep through the near full-height windows gives you an idea as to how the area is laid out. On the starboard side, there is individual seating and across the room from there is an L-shape settee with a small coffee table and ottomans nearby. Forward of this region is the formal dining room with a table capable of seating eight comfortably. The full height windows really do it for this space and will be stunning during the day. The cutouts in the bulwark directly outside of the main saloon aid in the view, capitalizing on the extensive glazing.
  5. The standard Horizon FD85 is powered by a pair of CAT C32 ACERT 1600 HP marine engines, but the first hull is powered by C18s to give her a top speed in the region of 16-knots. To get the most out of her 10,200 LT capacity fuel tanks, you would have to dial her back to a continuous 10-knots or slower. That should see her reach a 1,670 nautical range. Accommodation is for as many as ten guests onboard. There is the master suite forward on the main deck complete with large windows on both sides and skylight in the ceiling. On the lower deck exist two doubles and two twins for guests. Now that the first FD85 is complete, designer Cor D. Rover suggests that there is an FD65 in the pipeline. Watch this space for more on that in the future.
