Westport 112 Raised Pilothouse Motoryacht
YachtForums’ first review of the Westport 112 goes way back to July of 2005. While styling has been modernized, this iconic design maintains its platform of success with seakeeping ability, impressive cruise speeds and comfortable styling. With the recent launch of hull number 64 in the Westport 112 Raised Pilothouse series, YachtForums is proud to revisit this updated model and present it to our community. So what makes this Westport 112 review different? Somewhere between spoiler alert and full disclosure, this review is virtual. Wait! Don’t hit the delete key yet. Hate to burst your belief in the written word, but when we first began reviewing yachts, we were troubled to learn the frequency of yacht reviewers that never stepped foot aboard a boat, none-the-less taken the yacht out for a sea trial...

Nordhavn's Third N80 In Build
Back in January 2020, Trawler and pocket explorer specialist Nordhavn updated the industry on the third N80 that has been under construction for its owner. The first photo below is a look at the first N80 but this feature is about the third hull in this line and emphasis on why this one is so different from the others. The difference mainly is showcased on the interior where Nordhavn teamed-up with Vripack -a design company with vast expertise designing of explorer type yachts-. This collaboration resulted in a European oriented type of interior; different from the typical American-styling. The buyers of Nordhavn 80, hull #3, liked what they saw and opted to go with a Vripack-designed interior...
Oceanic 140 Explorer By Canados Still Under Construction
The story behind the Oceanic 140 by Canados is an interesting one. The yacht has spent more time under construction than most yachts would. The project began back in 2014 and it is 2020 and still the vessel has not hit the water. A major part of this delay had to do with the project stalling as a result of the yard changing hands. Work did resume on the yacht but there was no owner at the time. It appears that the fresh delays are now being attributed to new engines, variants of the CAT C32s that needed to be fitted. In our last update we suggested based on information available at the time the remainder of the superstructure would have been fitted to the vessel towards the end of 2020...

Ocea Commuter 50; A Nod Back To The Past
In the past, commuter yachts were often the mode of transportation used by wealthy tycoons to transit between home and work. French-based Ocea Yachts has been making commuter-styled yachts for decades and their boats usually are designed to give a nod to past commuter designs. The Ocea Commuter 50 is a stylish 50-meter all-aluminum yacht that does not stray from the classic Ocea Commuter lines of past yachts. This yacht will be capable of carrying twelve guests in six cabins and a crew of ten. Top speed will be 18-knots when demanded and a comfortable 15-knot cruise speed to extend the operational range. However, if meaningful range is what you need out of the Commuter 50, then at a continuous 10-knots, the yacht can roam for 5,000 nautical miles. She is envisioned to be powered by 2 x 1 700 bhp engines sipping from 57,000 LT. The 290 tonne yacht would be certified Lloyd’s Register/MCA...
