Fincantieri 377' "Morpheus"
"He who forms, or molds, the shape of dreams"
Fincantieri Yachts is building a new Tim Heywood design... the 377' "Morpheus"!
Tim Heywood is a London-based designer who has been involved in the yachting industry for over 30 years. For those not familiar his work, you may be familiar with other yachts he has designed, including ‘Perfect Prescription’, ‘Carinthia VII’, ‘Pelorus’ and ‘Air’. The Morphius project is one of Heywood's first collaborations with Fincantieri.
Morpheus, at 115 metres (377 feet), is a giga-yacht of gigantic proportions and clearly destined for an elite segment of the yachting market. The exterior design incorporates a few recognizable Heywood's elements, but with distinct lines that will ultimately set Morphius apart from past endeavors.

Holland Jachtbouw launches sleek Dixon sloop...
The debut cooperation between Dutch yard Holland Jachtbouw and the Dixon Design office has resulted in a spectacular fast cruising yacht. Launched as YII in March 2006, this fast cruising sloop has an uncluttered, almost minimalist appearance. This is achieved by a low profile deckhouse combined with a range of sleek features such as recessed headsail furlers, a 'through hull' anchor system, pop up cleats, deck-recessed Genoa tracks and concealed hinges for hatches.
YII’s Alustar hull and low weight of 152 tons will ensure that her performance is as impressive as her looks. The yacht is fitted with a suite from North Sails and her entire deck equipment and power package is supplied by the yachting world’s leading brands.
The air of exclusivity and elegance is continued below deck, where John Munford has designed a modern yet distinctly warm interior...

Imtra Corporation’s AutoAnchor AA150 has just been recognized with the 2006Freeman Pittman Award for Innovation, the highest accolade for product inventiveness in the sailing industry. The AA150 accurately measures the length of ground tackle released or retrieved by almost any brand of electric windlass. That length (in meters or feet) of chain and/or rode is then displayed on a bright LED, housed in a standard-size instrument case at the helm, flybridge or foredeck. The AA150 also contains a docking alarm to alert the operator for the last 1.5 meters (5 feet) of anchor retrieval.
Having a precise reading on amount of ground tackle deployed helps boaters
anchor more securely, knowing, instead of guessing their scope ratio. The weather resistant display can be installed with up to 2 remotes. Its LED has adjustable intensity backlighting, and this system can be simply programmed to measure chain, rope or combination rodes: the AA150 is the first rode counter than can do this...

New Bedford, MA -- Side-Power Thruster Systems the world’s largest builder of bow and stern thrusters, has just introduced a new line of handheld wireless radio remote controls. The design of these remote controls makes the operation of thrusters and windlasses more user-friendly and safer by dramatically reducing any ambiguity in what the command buttons will do and by engineering in several safety features to eliminate unintended operation. Two models are available, each ergonomically optimized, lightweight and palm-sized: Bow and Stern Thrusters (shown) and Bow Thruster plus Anchor Windlass.
The most obvious innovative feature in these new radio remotes is the use of a boat shape, segmented into well-marked command keys. This intuitive graphic design eliminates confusion and simplifies operation...

New Bedford, MA -- Imtra Corporation’s wide range of windlass controls has been extended again with the most innovative and useful remote controllers to-date. Among these, the CHC-1102M even includes its own microprocessor, an LCD display of chain (or rode) deployed and an LED “flashlight” for safer work on deck at night.
The microprocessor allows Imtra’s CHC-1102M controller to be programmed not only to work with almost any windlass but also to include safety alarms and function monitors, of which the graphic chain counter is especially useful. Each owner can determine alarm thresholds as well as which functions to display - in their choice of 5 languages - on the bright LCD screen, which has a wide viewing angle, adjustable backlighting plus automatic contrast compensation for enhanced viewing in sunlight or night conditions. Displayable data include chain/rode deployed (in meters or feet), chain speed, voltage supply, date and time, and more...

POPULAR SATELLITE RADIO ANTENNA UPGRADED...
The tradition of providing better products is alive and well at Shakespeare. The Galaxy SRA-30 satellite radio antenna is now available packaged with a pedestal mount kit. The new offering becomes the Shakespeare Galaxy SRA-40.
The SRA-40 receives and amplifies satellite radio signals, like its little brother, the SRA-30. It boasts the same unique low profile and small size. With a height of just 1.36” and diameter of 3.5”, it weighs less than 1 lb. The 6" cable with built-in connecter is ready to attach to the included 25' coax cable.
Mounting options go beyond the SM-31 pedestal. Any flat surface up to 1" thick can also be used. The cable can be routed either through a hole drilled through the mounting surface, or through one of three cable knockouts in the mounting flange. The Galaxy SRA-40 can also be mounted on an extension mast or rail-mount...

SECURITY SYSTEM BOASTS NEW DESIGN...
A surveillance camera adds a level of protection to property, and should do so no matter what the conditions. With a sleek new design, Night Vision Technologies' 125 camera enhances safety and security by improving the operator's ability to detect, observe and identify objects and activity in total darkness, daylight or mixed light.
For shipping, commercial and large pleasure vessels, the 125 is an ideal stationary camera for monitoring cargo and valuable equipment. The unit also has broad security applications for marinas and other commercial sites such as oil rigs.
The state-of-the-art thermal camera inside the 125 is protected from the harsh marine environment by a rugged, pressurized, stainless steel housing. It provides NTSC video output and is easily integrated into a craft's information center/bridge, or land-based monitoring and control rooms...

International Shipyards Ancona announced the launching of one of their latest artworks, a steel-hull, aluminum superstructure displacement motoryacht named AXIOMA, the sixth 47 meter of the range. On March 25th, 2006, with a private party agreed to be the yacht’s new owners, MY AXIOMA slowly glided down the slipway. As the she touched the water loads of balloons and streamers we’re released into the sky.

Miami, FL – A fleet of eight Hargrave yachts was on display at the recent 2006 Miami Yacht & Brokerage Show, which attracted buyers from around the country. According to company President Michael Joyce, “This was our largest show in history and also proved to be our best show in terms of sales. We saw an instant response to the new 105’ Flush Deck DREAM as well as the 108’ Raised Pilothouse FREEDOM.”
Following the show, these yachts all left Miami together, escorted by a helicopter. Eight captains showed off their skills by piloting the yachts through Blue Angel type maneuvers. This celebratory departure was inspired by the success of the show and Hargrave’s fun loving sensibility. The crews developed five different “maneuvers” including a 4 x 4 crossing maneuver. After five days of hard work, we were all ready for a little bit of amusement. These exciting maneuvers are captured below.....

On January 28 2006, Hakvoort Shipyard launched the 49,99 meter JeMaSa, due to be delivered in April 2006. By volume and tonnage, JeMaSa is the largest yacht launched to date at Hakvoort Shipyard.
JeMaSa is a twin screw ocean going motor yacht with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure and equipped with facilities that allow her decks to be enjoyed throughout the year.
