YachtForums: We Know Big Boats!
Hatteras’ brand new H-68 Convertible wraps the distinctive nees of sportfishing into a dream-boat package, for the yacht owner who settles for nothing but the very latest innovations. No question; the H-68 is a yacht for the owner who is driven to be a force in sportfishing. These are very special yachts, for very special people.
The sportfishing yacht itself is a tricky challenge; it must deliver the speed and safety to get “out there”, the finest in cruising comfort, plus the most productive arsenal for finding and landing outstanding fish. Whether it’s for tackle-busting, a world-record marlin or Top Gun in a Release Tournament... Hatteras, a company with a half-century of credentials, delivers what sportfishermen want, and need...

MAGMA ANNOUNCES BIGGEST GOURMET GRILL...
Magma Products' newest and largest Gourmet Grill, the Monterey, boasts 420 square inches of grilling area—large enough to provide an onboard banquet for the hungriest of crews.
The Monterey's rectangular housing/grill area features 100% mirror-polished stainless steel construction, reliable Piezo ignition, double-lined inner safety shells, front-access lock-in, and slide-out grease trays. Closely placed grill grate struts keep small items from falling through the cooking surface.
The Monterey is equipped with an oversized, hinged, balanced lid to accommodate large cuts of meat, fish or fowl, but won't accidentally slam shut when the boat rolls. A stainless steel thermometer is mounted inside the grill lid. When not in use, all of the grill's components lock securely into place.
The Monterey uses readily available 1-pound disposable propane canisters, or easily adapts to onboard LPG (propane) or CNG (natural gas) systems...

ACTUATOR PLACES A SMOOTH RIDE AT THE FINGERTIPS
Glendinning Marine Products' Smart Actuator takes the fight out of balky engine and transmission linkage systems and gives boaters complete control of speed plus forward and reverse — with a single lever.
The Smart Actuator, used with Glendinning's Model CH2001 control head, creates a smooth arc of finely controlled power, even on throttles and gears linked by inferior-quality control cables. With Glendinning's Complete Control electronic engine control system, the boater can regulate speed and direction with accuracy and ease.
The EEC system with Smart Actuator provides sensitive throttle and gear response for sidling up to a dock, towing, anchoring or slow maneuvers that require precision handling. The EEC system utilizes CANbus interface technology, which simplifies wiring and allows greater flexibility when adding control stations...

PEERLESS PORTS PROTECT IN ALL CONDITIONS
Few port windows can claim to be watertight, provide varying, measured degrees of ventilation, ease-of-use and distinctive looks. But New Found Metals' Tri-Matrix, caulkless, self-sealing ports are that and more.
Made of 316/316L stainless steel and ABS weather - resistant copolymers, the port is light weight and strong. Stainless steel bands accent the interior and exterior rings while anchoring two cam dogs and a double hinge and the main frame’s polymer has UV inhibitors which resist fading from the sun.
Tri-Matrix ports are a good alternative for the boater who dreads going to battle with a messy caulking gun to replace old, unattractive port windows. The ports' bolt-through construction is engineered for a permanent dry-fitting as the plates compress a ring of closed-cell,
silicon foam to half its thickness.
The compressed foam seals the outside edges of the port from the elements...

Few yachts are as striking to behold as Kaiserwerft’s new “Perfect Harmony”. Sporting more curves than Mulholland Drive, the latest Baron 102’ completes a trilogy of launches by Kaiserwerft, who’s previous yachts include Ocean of Love and C’est la Vie.

Volvo Penta is now launching a new propulsion system for boats – the Volvo Penta IPS (Inboard Performance System).
The new system is proposed to make boats faster, stronger, quieter, cleaner and just as easily maneuverable as a normal passenger car.
In simplified terms, the new system features propellers that are turned in the direction in which the boat is traveling. Volvo Penta has placed pulling and counter-rotating propellers through the bottom of the hull, which provides the boat with significantly improved performance, compared with traditional shaft installations...

CLEAT CHOCKS CATCH THE EYE BUT NOT THE LINE
Stainless-steel cleat chocks from New Found Metals are not only stylish and innovative, but are hand-polished so lines can pass through without danger of chafing. A cleat chock can function as a cleat, a chock or a fairlead.
The chock's horns are offset from the base at a slight angle, to lead the mooring line away from the hull as much as possible. The cleat chock can be mounted inboard or outboard.
Hand-polished cleat chock surfaces, especially the undersides of the horns, ensure uniform smoothness to virtually eliminate friction against secured lines.
The 316 Series comes in three sizes: 8", 10" and 12", with 3/8" x 2" studs on the first two and a ½" x 2" stud on the l2-incher. The smallest chock weighs about 2-1/2 lbs.
MSRP of the cleats starts at $39.95.

THE CABLEMASTER: ShorePower Made Easy
One way a boater can run afoul of the gear when docking or undocking is by wrestling with heavy, soiled, shore-power cables - and maybe wrenching his back in the process. With the touch of a button, Glendinning Marine Products' Cablemaster units will extend, retract and store many different sizes of shore cable, keeping them out of the water and the decks free of excess coils of cable.
Cablemaster comes in three models and can handle 30- to 200-amp cables. Time-tested Cablemasters, widely accepted by major yacht manufacturers worldwide, handle cables up to 2 inches (50 mm) in outside diameter.
Unlike industrial reels, the Cablemaster system does not carry shore power through slips rings or brushes, which can be susceptible to moisture or corrosion in a harsh marine environment...
