New GB 72' Aleutian Expands On Fexas Design
September 09, 2008: Grand Banks today unveiled a new addition to its growing Aleutian Series of raised pilothouse yachts, the 72 Aleutian SC. Scheduled for launch in 2009, this new model joins the 72RP as the largest and most luxurious yachts in the Grand Banks fleet.
One look at the 72SC, however, reveals a key difference between this newest Aleutian and the original 72RP. Where the earlier model boasts an open lower cockpit with stairs up to the main deck level, the 72SC instead features a main deck that extends aft from the salon to the transom on one level - creating a wonderfully large outdoor living area covered by the flybridge deck above. In addition, the 72SC will be the first Grand Banks to offer the option of a four-stateroom layout.
"The 72SC is a beautiful new alternative to the original RP model," said Neil McCurdy, Vice President of Sales and Service for Grand Banks...

“Terrible” is a word that invokes a less then benevolent thought, but is actually a well-respected name in the west; Terrible Herbst, who’s company holdings include service stations, casinos and a motorsports team. Add to this list, Delta’s sleekest silhouette to date, the new 154’ “Mr. Terrible”.
Although Mr. Terrible's profile is a departure, a closer look reveals this yacht is pure Delta; which means functionality meets ergonomic design with continuity. The designers strove to share a fluidity of lines with extensive aerodynamic flourishes. Even exterior functional elements, such as air intakes and rails, were blended, while expressing function...

Unique 130-meter, 40-knot Pentamaran Superyacht
July 18, 2008: BMT Nigel Gee is excited to introduce its patented high-speed Pentamaran concept to the large yacht market, Project Véloce, which is capable of speeds of over 40 knots.
Project Véloce represents a truly innovative application of technology in the large yacht market. Developed for high-speed applications, the patented Pentamaran hull form is a derivative of the stabilized monohull concept featuring a long slender central hull, hydrodynamically optimized without the constraints of needing to be stable. Stability is then provided by two pairs of outriggers or ‘sponsons’.
Conventional stabilized monohulls typically require relatively deeply immersed and long sponsons to meet damaged stability requirements and these can incur significant resistance penalties...
Cor D Rover 41-meter Semi-Displacement Design
Recently Cor D Rover signed a contract for the design of a new semi- displacement yacht. The new design will be 41-meters in length and will be built at Jongert Yachts in Holland.

Currently she is just known as the Jongert41 in design. The Jongert motoryacht is envisioned to have a speed of 22 knots. Features of this yacht include gently curving lines especially around the stern and bow.

Royal Huisman starts construction on 57.50-meter "Twizzle"
Royal Huisman Yachts have confirmed that this 57.50-meter sailing yacht will be launched in March 2010. This elegant, 57.5m flybridge ketch is an exciting project for Royal Huisman. It is the yard’s first yacht completely styled, inside and out, by the talented team of Redman, Whiteley Dixon – with interior décor from Todhunter Earle Associates. Naval architecture by Ed Dubois Associates represents another long-anticipated first for the yard; and this is Royal Huisman’s first flybridge sailing yacht.
Twizzle is a stimulating project because the owners are central to this talented team, bringing their own ideas (particularly in technology and design) and significant experience (yachts they have owned include a 47m Perini Navi and a 55m Feadship) to the process, adding challenge and momentum...
Royal Huisman's 190' "Ethereal" will be a silent yacht
"Ethereal" is a 190-foot long ketch under construction at Royal Huisman Shipyards. The yacht is in its final stages of construction and is being readied for an October, 2008 launch. However, one thing will be dramatically different about Ethereal. As Ron Holland Design explains it, she will be silent!
"Once upon a time there was a thing called a battery boat. One could lie at anchor, sail for long periods and have total quiet – only the sound of water and wind. Lights and navigation equipment were the prime electrical consumers on board. Then along came bigger boats with less crew and the need for powered winches evolved.
Soon followed air conditioning, power hungry refrigeration and a lighting plan fit for the most exotic home. The generator became the focal point and source of all manner of discussion relating to capacity and especially sound insulation...
Abeking & Rasmussen launches 134' SWATH "Silver Cloud"
On June 30th, 2008 Abeking & Rasmussen launched the SWATH luxury yacht called "Silver Cloud". Silver Cloud replaces a Feadship monohull of the same name. Abeking & Rassmussen have experience working with SWATH designed vessels and this is evident in the PILOT STATION, "Cetus". Now they have transfered their knowledge into the construction of Silver Cloud.
"SWATH stands for ‘Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull’, an innovative concept for smooth service in rough seas. The buoyancy of a SWATH ship is provided by two submarine hulls connected to the upper platform by twin narrow struts from each of the submarine hulls.
The cross-sectional area at the sea surface is approximately 1/6th that of a comparable size yacht and thus only a minimum part of the ship is exposed to the lifting forces of the waves while 5/6 of the buoyancy is on the submarine hulls...
