Many of the safety and back up systems will be located in a separate engine space under the guest cabins, resulting in a spacious and clean engine room.
The spaciousness of many areas will be another memorable aspect of Free Spirit...

Coming Soon: Pershing 80'
May 2008 - A wind of change continues to blow up from the Adriatic coast, Pershing Yachts. Over past weeks, the shipyard and engineering department have been absorbed in the final stages of a major new project, the launch of the new Pershing 80’. This model, which is now almost ready for unveiling, has inherited two very important qualities from the Pershing 72’, a craft that enjoyed remarkable commercial success and visibility in 2007. The new Pershing 80’, brainchild of yacht designer Fulvio De Simoni, once again succeeds in offering owners exceptional performance. On the standard version, two powerful 2030 mhp MTU engines combine with ASD 15L surface propellers to guarantee a peak speed of 44 knots, whereas a faster version with two 2435 mhp MTU engines offers an incredible peak speed of 50 knots at 1/3 loaded displacement...
Van Dam Nordia 120' Sailing Yacht
Custom yacht builder Van Dam Nordia presents their new flagship, the 120’ Performance Cruiser. This new range from the shipyard has proven to be a successful concept even far before the launch of the first yacht. With the first 70’ Performance Cruiser in the final stage of construction and the second 70’ Performance Cruiser hull nearly finished to be outfitted, the range has somewhat of a flying start. The range is designed around the Nordia values of high-end build quality, individuality and a maximum amount of comfort, but now with the addition of even more speed and sharper handling characteristics...

Crossing the Atlantic on her maiden voyage; the new Dockwise “Yacht Express”. Nestled in her bosom; a seemingly improbable cargo... 18 not-very-small yachts. This 685’ steel transporter looms like an entire marina bearing down on the horizon, carrying dream boats to dream destinations.
The very size of this new transport impacts our senses, appearing more as a high-rise condominium underway, rather than a seagoing suitcase packed with tens of millions of dollars in yachts. Her inaugural voyage will be from Dockwise’s headquarters in Ft. Lauderdale to the Mediterranean. For the full feature.....

New Launch: Benetti 52-meter "Latinou"
The festivities for the launch of Benetti's FB237, "Latinou", the new 52-meter built in the Livorno facility, started Saturday, April 19th in the morning, when the owner invited 200 labourers onboard, together with their families for a toast with a rare champagne expressly bottled for the occasion. A grateful thanks for having contributed to making a dream come true. An unusual noble gesture, appreciated by all the labourers.
The gratitude towards the Benetti team and the shipyard has been also shown during the ceremony of the launch, revealing the sincere pride of the owners for the newest arrival to the family. As a mark of appreciation Benetti organized a beautiful tailor made party, paying the same attention and the same worldly wisdom used during the construction of Latinou, the provençal word for elegance and harmony...
When the owner of the 50-meter Hakvoort “JeMaSa” decided he needed a support vessel, his client brief included requirements typical of the shadow boat concept; a commercially certified helicopter deck with a hangar offering storage for the aircraft and the usual selection of tenders and toys.

Bertram’s new flagship, the 700 Enclosed Bridge, marries superb Euro-styling with a gutsy hull built for supreme comfort where the seas run wild. Bertram’s have always been known for stout construction, as well as a crispness of line that has defined the marquee over the years.
Bertram reached the point where it was time to kick it up a notch; not radical change for change’s sake, but rather an evolution in styling, form & function - thinking outside the box - to build the future Bertram, without altering the basic DNA of what had brought them this far. For an extensive review of Bertram’s new uber-sportfisherman.....

A work of artistic taste and mien – far from the pop candy look of some new builds – Palmer Johnson’s “Dragon”, the second launch of their 135’ sport yacht series, was instantly voted a star on Valentine’s Day at the Miami International Boat Show.
Dragon’s flamboyant exterior design is only the preface; a threshold in a grand exposition of modern yachting, which seems deeply devoted to a study in modern art, Dragon flaunts a spirited, highly artistic quality which sets her apart from other luxury yachts, both inside and out...

The radical new, reverse-bow Project "SIGMA", built by Blohm & Voss Shipyards, with lines strikingly similar to a submarine, was recently splashed leaving some wondering if it was intended to float or submerge.
At the leading edge of this concept is a conventional yacht bow turned upside-down. In a conventional hull form targeting a head-sea, forward momentum is reduced by hull pitching and plowing. In contrast, SIGMA’s bow is designed to silhouette waves. For the first spy photos.....

New Launch: Blohm & Voss 118-meter Project “SIGMA”
Radical Reverse-Bow Yacht in Completion Stages
Following the signing of a contract for a large megayacht in beginning of November 2004, Blohm + Voss announced the signing of another contract for the construction of a 118-meter Megayacht’ project “SIGMA”. This radical reverse-bow yacht, with lines strikingly similar to a submarine, was recently splashed leaving some wondering if it was intended to float or submerge.
The spectacular Phillipe Starck (France) design for this 118-meter yacht was constructed under the supervision of “Blue Ocean Yacht Management“ under the lead of Neil Wade. The same company also supervised the refit of the 114-meter superyacht “Pelorus“ at Blohm + Voss for a different owner...
Feadship’s New Reverse-Bow “Predator” Heads for Sea-Trials
All too often new additions to the global luxury motoryacht fleet are described as
revolutionary breakthroughs, claims that are justified in terms of size, technology or new
heights of splendor. A truly radical shift in thinking is much rarer, however… and the
phenomenal new 72.80 meter Feadship Predator might just fit the billing.

During the launch ceremony at the Koninklijke De Vries yard in Aalsmeer (NL) on 5 January 2008, all eyes were on Predator’s sensational reverse bow. This bow forms part of the aggressive new styling brief at the core of the client’s wish-list. “The owner arrived at the yard in late 2004 with a request that we partner on something different than anything else afloat,” comments Henk de Vries...
New Launch: Sunseeker 34-meter Yacht
Sunseeker yachts have enjoyed a wonderful year. This can be measured by the number of yachts launched and delivered to the owners on time and successfully. With the launch and deliveries of the 37M Snapper and the 37M M4, these yachts alone are a success story. Of course, they have delivered many smaller yachts this year, but the latest highlight is the new 34-meter Sunseeker.
The 112’ yacht will feature three decks, a lower, main and upper fly bridge deck. Starting below, the lower deck hides the two VIP-type suites. These suites are generously proportioned and feature the latest in entertainment systems. Each suite has ensuite bathrooms with all the modern amenities. There are also two guest rooms on the lower deck as well. These rooms offer similar entertainment and ensuite bath and toilet facilities.
However, it is on the main deck where the bigger and more impressive accommodation is located...
