Coste Design produces 60-meter power catamaran design
A 60-meter power catamaran was designed by Coste Design with Blue Coast Yachts. The vessel is of epic dimensions being 62-meters LOA and 22-meters BOA.
The new vessel is envisioned to be built of advanced composite materials to save weight and increase efficiency. The 62-meter vessel will also incorporate the latest in hybrid propulsion with the aim at being as environmentally friendly as possible without loosing potential horsepower and then speed as a result.
The vessel is being called the 'Event Cat' and with it's enormous beam of 22-meters, a multiplicity of special features can be had onboard. Some include the possibility of a helipad, a large pool, large accommodation areas and spacious entertainment regions...
Heesen's 44-meter Project "Zentric" is sold
Dutch builder have successfully sold the 44-meter Project "Zentric" which is on course for launch in early 2012. She represents the ninth hull in the 4400 series by Heesen Yachts. Nakhimov who is overseeing the project facilitated the sale.
Project Zentric is a semi-displacement yacht with five staterooms with a top speed of 25 knots. For Nakhimov this continues a successful close collaboration with the yard as, earlier this year they oversaw the delivery of the 55m "Quinta Essentia" – the largest Heesen built to date – and the 37m "Aurelia". Nakhimov has also been appointed the owner’s representative during final construction and will be managing Project Zentric post delivery in April 2012...
Soraya 46-meter superyacht build update
Soraya Yachts and its Soraya 46-meter superyacht have now pushed forward the estimated launching date for that particular vessel. The new vessel was scheduled to have been launched earlier this year. The revised time is now an expected launch in early 2012, March to be precise.
Top speed on the new luxury yacht is projected at 16-knots with low cruising at 12-knots. An impressive range of 4,500 nautical miles at cruising is also expected.
Ten guests are to be slept in five staterooms ranging from the owner's room on the forward main deck to guest accommodation on the lower deck. The crew of nine are also provided for. The design for the interior has been done by Ales Bratina and actually being executed by Bobic Yacht Interior. The Soraya 46-meter is being built to be compliant to RINA and MCA standards. Horizon Yachts secure new order for PC58 catamaran
After launching the first Horizon Power Catamaran 58-footer and subsequently officially unveiling her at the recently concluded Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS), a new order for the said model has been secured.
The PC58 garnered significant interest at the show from persons all over globe. The new model was unveiled at the FLIBS at a cocktail event held at the Horizon Yacht display booth. Since then the interest in the model shot through the roof. That alone signalled success at the show for Horizon.
Horizon's PC58 is on a catamaran platform with a top speed in the region of 25-knots and high cruising speed at 20-knots. "We are all very proud of this new yacht, and thank the entire team at Horizon Yachts for all their hard work!” said John Lu about the new PC58 model...
Tansu Yachts and Diana Yacht Design team up on 33.90-meter "Only Now"
Diana Yacht Design and Tansu Yachts collaborated on a new near 34-meter design being called "Only Now". The exterior styling was clearly the work of Tansu Yachts while the naval architecture has been by Diana Yacht Design (DYD).
Accommodation has been cited for six guests in three cabins, that is, the master stateroom and two double cabins. The vessel uses angles and simple lines to come to the conclusion of design. Even at 34-meters a large section of the space onboard the yacht is dedication towards exterior relaxation. Plenty finished teak exterior spaces with seating.
The aft sun deck has space for a tender with dedicated crane for service. As with many Tansu yachts the Only Now has a straight bow hinting at her effortless ease in sailing through the water. Top speed is expected to be around 22-knots...
Erdevicki 110' "Durabo" sailing yacht
The 110-foot "Durabo" sloop designed by Ivan Erdevicki is under construction. Construction on the yacht started nearly three years ago in 2009 but the financial crisis squeezed the pockets of the then owner and now work on the vessel have ceased.
Some quick statistics show that she has a waterline length of 98.10-feet, an overall beam of 24.50-meters with a draught of 16-feet with the hydraulic lifting keel fully extended and just 7.6-feet retracted. Displacement at half load is expected to be just under 125-tonnes. "Durabo" can be fitted with a sloop rig or a special carbon fiber schooner rig. Either way she is set to be a performance sailing yacht...
57-meter "Lady Linda" launches at Trinity Yachts
The near 190-foot "Lady Linda" has been launched by Trinity Yachts. The late 2011 build is expected to be completed and handed over in very early in 2012. She boasts exterior and interior design by Evan K Marshall and Naval Architecture by Trinity Yachts.
She has been built in all aluminum to the highest standards with Classification to ABS Maltese Cross A1 Yachting Service, AMS, MCA. While in construction she was known as hull T050 and of course has her final name as Lady Linda.
LL is powered by a pair of 3,384 horse power CAT engines. Top speed is set at around 20-knots with crusing at 18-knots. LL will host twelve guests in six staterooms and room for the fourteen crew members. The superyacht also has a heli-pad for heliborne operations.

Arcadia Yachts launch 115-foot "M'Ocean"
Italian based Arcadia Yachts just this week successfully launched the first hull in their 115-foot series call "M'Ocean". The innovative yacht reportedly splashed Monday 14, 2011 as suggested by Arcadia showing that she is not just a bigger take on her smaller sister, the Arcadia 85'.
According to Arcadia the M'Ocean is powered by 2 X Man 1,224 horse power engines with ZF gearboxes which are enough for a 19-knot top speed. Some special features onboard include the use of photovoltaics embedded into the roof structure to help recharge the batteriers. There is even optional electric propulsion. The interior is minimalist yet contemporary sporting neutral colours. Delivery of M'Ocean could occur before the year ends...
Cheoy Lee introduces the Alpha 76 Express yacht
Cheoy Lee built a radical and sporty yacht to a design of Micheal Peters Yacht Design and introduced it at the recently concluded Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The yacht created quite a buzz with passers-by wondering who possibly built her.
The CL Apha, aimed at being the 'head of the species' made quite a splash on her debut. She has an interior by Luiz de Basto Designs that is described as being 'sophisticated'. The quality of materials and finishes should be self-evident. For this reason Luiz de Basto designed an interior that is practical. Starting with overall space planning, the Cheoy Lee Alpha 76 gives the feeling of a much larger yacht.
She has been built in composite materials makin her light and strong at the same time over other construction materials...
Baia delivers express yachts "Argonauts" and "Katara III"
Baia Yachts have delivered two Baia 100 express yachts called "Argonauts" and "Katara III". The boats, hull 4 and 5 respectively have been designed by Italian Galeazzi Design. Both yachts were delivered recently in 2011.
Triple MTU brand engines run these express yacht to a top speed of 50-knots with cruising at approximately 45-knots. Both yachts are made in GRP materials and have been built on spec with similar dimensions. A length of 31-meters, beam of 7.34-meters and a very shallow draught of just 1.20-meters. The Baia One Hundred series started in 2008 with the launch of the "Fan One", followed by "Mirage" and "Black Legend". Hull number 6 is currently under construction.

Perini Navi completes 45-meter "Clan VIII" sloop
"Clan VIII" was launched on September 6, 2011. The result is a collaboration between Perini Navi and designer Ron Holland. This sloop features all the hallmarks of Perini Navi yachts, including a spacious flybridge and the opening stern which reveals a structural staircase that descends to a 7m2 swimming platform which complements a lateral opening shell door on the yacht’s port side.
The Perini Navi-built mast rises 52 metres above the waterline and the vessel carries an upwind sail area of almost 900 m2. The centreboard affords a draft of 3.9 m with the board up to 8.75 m down and in conjunction with her efficient appendages - including a rudder with a relatively high aspect ratio - and large sail area provides the best possible sailing performance for this ocean cruising yacht boasting a particularly large internal volume...
Horizon debuts EP69 model in the United States
Horizon EP69 long range expedition yacht has gained high reputation when she presented in Europe and Australia, and following the success, Horizon decided to introduce the popular EP69 to her next target market – the Americas by attending Seattle Boats Afloat Show.
Lex Mitchell of Emerald Pacific Yachts, Horizon’s dealer in West Coast since 2003, reported “The new EP69 drew potential buyers from a couple of areas. One, of course, is the group that dreams of going long distances in their Expedition yacht. Reichel Pugh deisgn 35-meter classic sloop
A new classic sloop has emerged from the design boards of Reichel Pugh. She is a 34.95-meter long classic racing sailing yacht with very clean lines and a low profile yet dominating deckhouse. Al Fresco eating can be had at the long table accompanied by padded seating located to the aft to the deckhouse, between the dual helm stations and the deckhouse.
The design is effortlessly simple yet sophisticated easily drawing the eye to all ends of the yacht. The gray hull paint further accentuates the classic appeal with white hydrodynamic keel bulb clearly seen below. Flexibility in the design is also afforded by the option to build the vessel either in composite or alloy materials.
Additionally the aforementioned keel and bulb can either be lifting or fixed all depending on the owner's wishes. While the exterior is of a design respecting a bygone era, the interior is more modern...
Van Geest unveils 60-meter superyacht design
Van Geest Design have unveiled another design to a 60-meter superyacht. The motoryacht has a design with a straight bow and conventional transom area with dual stairs leading to the swim platform.
According to Van Geest Design...the deisgn brief of this 60-meter motor yacht stated fast, performance oriented and is to look sporty. The hull is smoothly tailored and is cut away going aft, stripping itself to reveal a fully glazed superstructure.
The two tones, silver hull and charcoal superstructure create a distinctive look introducing graphic lines in the three-dimensional shapes, playing with volumes. The design invites you to have fun, exterior areas are laid out for all guests to interact or to find a private retreat.
For guests accommodation is in four guest cabins and a VIP-type cabin. The Master stateroom is forward on the main deck...
Dockwise to sell Dockwise Yacht Transport (DYT)
Dockwise Ltd has announced it has signed a letter of intent to sell its wholly-owned subsidiary, Dockwise Yacht Transport (DYT) to Coby Enterprises Corp (“the buyers”), supported by private equity and with participation of the existing management of DYT. Closing of the transaction is conditional upon market customary conditions. The proceeds of this cash deal will be disclosed upon completion of the transaction which is expected to take place during the next quarter. Following the disposal of DYT, Dockwise will be focused solely on its core Heavy Marine Transport (HMT), Transport and Installation (T&I) and Logistical Management activities.

Broward; Donald Starkey collaborate on 'Columbus 146' megayacht design
This all-aluminum design is a result in collaboration between Broward Shipyard and Donald Starkey Designs. The 44.5-meter megayacht is a contemporary design and features a semi-displacement hull. Speeds are expected to be in the region of above 14 knots by use of a pair of CAT C32 ACERT marine engines.
The range can be expected to be just over 3,000 nautical miles at an economical speed. Top engine output is estimated to be just under 2,600 horse power, that's near 1,300 horse power per engine. In essence the design is an expedition superyacht with aim of providing relaxing entertainment in comfort and still the ability to visit secluded coves. Having that in mind, the draft of the yacht is minimal and a respectably wide beam of 9.15-meters aids in the comfort.

Oyster Marine offers 125' sloop with flybridge
Flybridge sailing yachts are a relatively new concept and, until the introduction of the flybridge version of the Oyster 125 by Dubois, were to be found only on 48m (160 ft) yachts and above.
The Dubois design office already has a number of flybridge yachts on the water, including "Tiara" at 54.3m (178ft) and "Kokomo" at 51.7m (169ft). With this experience, the Dubois team has been able to finesse the design of the Oyster 125 to capture all the benefits of this concept and match them within a well-balanced, good-looking profile. This flybridge uses the same superstructure as the Raised Saloon but also offers an upper flybridge with twin helms, lounge, wet bar and sunbathing area.
At 155,000 kilos (155 tonnes) lightship displacement, the Oyster 125 by Dubois is a very substantial superyacht, offering a stunning performance in absolute comfort...
Ocea completes and delivers 47M "Elisabet" megayacht
French builder Ocea recently completed the 47-meter megayacht "Elisabet". She is also known as the Ocea 155 Commuter but she is really a luxury pad designed for extended cruising in more remote areas of the world. Elisabet bears a reinforced hull built to operate in Ice conditions. Her design is by Naval Architects Joubert-Nivelt.
Special features onboard Elisabet include a helipad on the aft bridge/upper deck, large saloon and gymnasium. Her relatively straight bow slices through the water with ease and grey coloured hull is easy on the eyes. White superstructure keeps the paint tradition. The semi-shallow draught allows her, even at 47-meters LOA to traverse nearer-shore depths.
Elisabet is the largest 'Commuter' megayacht that Ocea have built to date and now that she is completed, she is sure to turn heads where ever she goes...
Tecnomar starts construction of 40M Impero megayacht
Italian luxury yacht builder Tecnomar recently announced the commencement of construction to the first hull of the 40-meter Impero megayacht line. The signal was given when the keel of the new vessel was laid in a ceremony with the owner in attendance. As is the tradition in the maritime industry, a special 'good-luck' coin was placed in the keel to bring forth blessing and fortune in construction and the hope of good sailing for the vessel.
The ceremony took place at Tecnomar's shipyard on the 26th of October according to the yard's website. Her construction will be in aluminum and built to a design by Luca Dini. She is destined to be noted under RINA's Green Plus certification, a step forward in best environmental practices. An engine package of two 1,920 horse power MTU 16V 2000 M94s are expected to power her to a top speed of 19-knots with cruising at 17...
Columbus 181 extended to 200'
The Columbus Yachts 181 megayacht has now been extended significantly to 60-meters. She has gone to 200-feet long from 181-feet initially. The vessel is currently under construction at the yard in Naples and now rebranded as the Columbus 200' Classic.
Accommodations onboard the new Columbus 200' Classic will be for fourteen in seven staterooms. One master stateroom and six staterooms for guests. The guest accommodation will be spread out in a VIP-type stateroom located on the upper deck, two double and twins with pullman berths situated on the lower deck...
