Heesen delivers 65-meter superyacht "Galactica Star"
Dutch superyacht builder Heesen has now successfully delivered their flagship 65-meter superyacht "Galactica Star". Galactica Star was set to be delivered by the end of June but she obviously was finished ahead of schedule.
She has many special features inclusive of an aft duplex beach club comprising a 10-sqm side balcony, a 22-sqm swim platform, bar, sauna, hammam, lit with natural light coming through a glass-bottomed main-deck pool. Remember Galactica Star is part of Heesen's Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) line and has been taylored to be fast and efficient for her size. The all-aluminium superyacht is run by twin 4,300kW MTU 20V 4000 M93L engines. The FDHF innovative hull design increases the overall performance of the yacht by around 30 percent.

Alloy completes 43.90-meter sailing yacht "Encore"
New Zealand yard Alloy Yachts has now completed the 43.90-meter sailing yacht "Encore" and has been delivered to her owners. The design is by Ed Dubois of Dubois Naval Architects. The 265-tonne yacht built under Alloy yard designation AY45, has a sailing rig done by Southern Spars. The mast is 54-meters tall supporting the rest of the sail equipment. Delta Marine launches 66-meter superyacht "Invictus"
American yard Delta Marine has successfully launched their latest yacht, the 66-meter "Invictus". She was built under the project name 'Invader' in steel and composite materials. Her aggressive build schedule pushed her to be launched by the first half of 2013.
Powered by twin Caterpillar 3516 main engines and carrying over 50,000 gallons of fuel, the yacht will have a 5,000 nautical mile range at 12-knots and a maximum speed of 16.8-knots. Quantum Zero Speed stabilizers will ensure a nice gentle ride both at anchor and underway. Her tender garage with side hull doors and overhead gantry cranes for deployment, will stow a RIB tender, jet skis and a custom 28’ Italian style launch.

Hakvoort delivers 39.7-meter motoryacht "Apostrophe"
Dutch yard Hakvoort now has completed the 39.7-meter motoryacht "Apostrophe". Custom-built in every respect, Apostrophe features an elegant exterior profile from the boards of Reymond Langton Design Ltd., which was also responsible for the contemporary Art Deco interior. With naval architecture by Diana Yacht Design, the owner was determined to build the finest Hakvoort to date, Apostrophe is a testimony to how magnificent things can be achieved when people truly cooperate together.
Built as YN 247 at the yard, Apostrophe features a full-beam master stateroom and owner’s study on the main deck. Eight guests will enjoy first class accommodation in four cabins, with dedicated quarters for the captain and four crew members. Vitters delivers 33.4-meter carbon sloop "Inouï"
Dutch yard Vitters has successfully completed and handed over "Inouï", the 33.4-meter carbon sloop to her owners. Delivery happened right after she was formally christened at the Maritime Museum in the heart of Amsterdam. She features a bold and vivid green hull color that really stands out.
Inouï was been designed by Philippe Briand and Naval Architecture was also completed by them. The interior was fleshed out by famed London-based design firm Andrew Winch Design. AB launches their latest AB140 express yacht

Lurssen launches 85.10-meter superyacht "Solandge"
German custom superyacht manufacturer Lurssen just launched their latest custom-built superyacht, formerly known as Project 'Niki'. The 85.10-meter superyacht now bears the name "Solandge" and is beautifully finished in dark flag-blue, white and black through the external structure creating a harmonious and balance appearance.
Solandge bears Espen Oeino Design on the exterior while a collaboration, Rodriguez Interiors and Dolker&Voges formulated the interior to the owner's wishes. Cheoy Lee launches Alpha 87-foot Express Yacht
Cheoy Lee has launched the first Alpha 87-foot Express Yacht. If you are wondering, this is actually a new model because Cheoy Lee have launched two yachts in the 76-foot range but in Sports and Flybridge versions. This one is a lot larger and an Express model. ISA sells first ISA 140 hybrid megayacht
Good news comes out of Italy with ISA selling an ISA 140 hybrid megayacht. The landmark yacht is designed by Andrea Vallicelli with an interior by Nuvolari-Lenard and will be able to sleep ten guests in five cabins. It's not surprising that the ISA 140 resembles the successful ISA 120 series and using this to build upon in improvements. She is being constructed using a single mould making her the largest composite hull made by the Italian yard.
Looking closer at the hybrid aspect of this new order with Siemens melding the conventional and electric engines. The conventional aspect of the yacht will be powered by diesel engines -pretty much as normal- linked with waterjets providing a top-end speed of 32-knots and a cruising speed in the region of 26-knots...

Palmer Johnson delivers PJ210 superyacht "Lady M"
American yard Palmer Johnson has completed the PJ210 launched back in May. Christened as "Lady M" the new superyacht has left the yard and is currently making her way to Summer cruising ground having crossed the Atlantic.
Just as a reminder, Lady M is the first completed yacht in the PJ210 series and represents the largest superyacht built so far for Palmer Johnson. Built under project name 'Stimulus' she has a design in and out by Nuvolari-Lenard. Lady M's engine room hosts a pair of MTU 16V 4000 M93L engines that can push this 65-meter yacht to 28-knots. Accommodation for twelve guests in six suites exist. There is a master stateroom on the forward main deck, three doubles and two twins on the lower deck...
Benetti 54-meter superyacht "Lady Michelle" nears delivery
Italian yacht manufacturer Benetti launched the 54-meter "Lady Michelle" last month and now she is on the verge of delivery. Delivery to whom? Well this yacht is actually for sale, asking €33.9 million Euros. Original line profile drawings of this yacht showed a white hull but in reality she has a flag-blue hull colour and white superstructure.
Benetti has been responsible for the exterior design and Naval Architecture while Franscois Zuretti with accommodation is set out in six staterooms for twelve guests based on double occupancy. The interior by Zuretti prominently features Cherry wood on the walls with elegant and even classical lookig furniture pieces. Lady Michelle is powered by dual CAT 3512C marine engines and has a top speed of 17-knots with cruising at 15-knots. Benetti also launched another superyacht in May...
Nauta draws up their largest sailyacht design to date
Nauta yachts have outdone themselves again. After designing the largest yacht in the world, Lurssen's "Azzam" project they have now designed their own largest sail yacht to date. It's not a world-record yacht but at just under 50-meters, it is a personal achievement for the design house.
Nauta collaborated with Reichel-Pugh on this one to help them with underwater surface and appendages design. The 155-foot yacht design is stirring considerable interest and in fact, there is a client currently looking for a performing sloop in the region of 45.7-meters. Prediction is that the speed could be around 16.5-knots if calculations are on track. The vessel is very sleek and low-profile and has a very squatted deckhouse to preserve those low-profile lines.

SanLorenzo SD92 motoryacht to launch in July
Next month should see the launching of the latest SD92. It is currently in the final build stages of construction and will emerge in July, 2013. The new motoryacht was recently sold and thus the new owner will get their motoryacht quickly after signing contract.
The standard SD92 by SanLorenzo features an LOA of 27,60-meters, a BOA of 7.15-meters and 2-meter full-draft. There is accommodation onboard for eight persons comfortably and four crew members. At full load this vessel should displace around 113-tonnes. On the interior the design calls for an Oak and Limestone combination. Like always, she has a pair of MTU V10 2000 M72 marine engines connected to two 5-bladed propellers. Sea trials should confirm her projected 17-knot top speed. She will be able to get an economical range of 1,660 nautical miles at 11-knots...
Horizon delivers Horizon E78 motoryacht "Wild Duck"
Horizon Yacht USA recently delivered a new Horizon E78 motoryacht called "Wild Duck" to her new owner, just in time for the summer cruising season. Wild Duck was a semi-custom build for her first-time Horizon owner and features a custom fishing cockpit for a LOA of 81-feet; she offers three comfortable staterooms, plus additional crew quarters and mess aft, as well as a spacious salon and country kitchen.
The standard E78 carries a pair of CAT C-32A engines rated at 1600 horse power. They draw from 7,000 LT capacity tanks and aside from them there is provision to store 1,500 LT of water. Her happy new owner has plans to travel to a number of Caribbean destinations this summer...
Feadship completes and delivers 57.60-meter superyacht "Larisa"
Feadship has finished the 57.60-meter superyacht "Larisa". She is now completed and delivered; out and about, taking her initial delivery cruise. Larisa features a contemporary classic exterior profile, but boasts a wide range of modern features. The strong curvaceous signature lines of the design are supported by a straight knuckle that runs all the way round the yacht from the bow to the stern. Other noteworthy features include the grey functional design element on the sun deck, and the liberal deployment of stainless steel railings. The latter come into their own on the forward part of the yacht in particular, descending into the top plate in a way that echoes the classic Feadships of old.

First Palmer Johnson 48-meter SuperSport Shell emerges
The first hull in the brand new Palmer Johnson 48-meter SuperSport carbon composite series emerged in the open recently in Norway. The new series was announced at the Monaco Yacht Show last year and now we get a glimpse of how she will appear in reality. The vessel is just the shell of the yacht and now has to be outfitted. She is enroute to the Palmer Johnson yard in the United States for outfitting and completion.
'We were honored to get this contract from Palmer Johnson in the first place, and I am sure this project has further improved our competence in carbon fiber boat production,’ this according to Brødrene Aa, managing director Tor Øyvin Aa. The Palmer Johnson 48-meter SuperSport is an entirely new design look for the U.S yard and injects further diversity into the PJ range and offering. Feadship launches 62-meter superyacht "Sea Owl"
This past Friday Dutch yard Feadship launched their latest superyacht, hull #807 with the name "Sea Owl". If that name rings a bell for you, it is because the owner's precious yacht had the same name as well, only smaller (43-meters) and built by Burger Boat in the U.S. The new Sea Owlfeatures a similar green on white paint scheme and bears design by Andrew Winch.

Jim Smith launches 32-meter sportfish yacht "Marlena"
Jim Smith Tournament Boats has launched their largest boat to date, the 32-meter sportfish yacht "Marlena". If the name sounds familiar it is because the owner has had another large sport fish with the same name. Now the vessel, built as hull 29, is out of the shed it has to be transported to Stuart, Florida waterfront where interior design Elizabeth Dalton will oversee the final detailing of the yacht's interior.
Marlena features a five stateroom layout comfortably sleeping ten guests. Even for a sportfish yacht of 105-feet LOA, her engines will be able to push her to near 40-knot top speed. The average cruising speed will be just under 30-knots. To keep her movement in the water to a minimum she is fitted with a Seakeeper M6000 gyro stabilizer.
