Bayliss Boatworks launch 25.6M sportfish yacht "Orion"
The 25.6-meter "Orion" is now the largest sportfish yacht launched by U.S yard Bayliss Boatworks. Construction began just before mid 2011 and now the flagship of the yard has been launched and sea trials completed in September, 2013.
Orion bears Naval Architecture by Robert Ullberg and the design features a wooden hull construction finished in dark blue. The superstructure is in traditional white with a large open tuna tower. Inside, Orion boasts accommodation in five cabins including a full-beam stateroom for the owner. There are also five heads onboard this custom-built sportfish yacht. Orion ran through her paces in sea trials and recorded a top speed of 42-knots! She carries dual MTU M94 engines each with 2,600-horse power...

Blohm and Voss launches 82-meter superyacht "Graceful"
German builder Blohm and Voss recently launched their latest superyacht in the form of the 82-meter "Graceful". The new superyacht is designed overall by H2 Yacht Design and has an interior dictated by the owner and carried out by the yard and Dörries Maritime Services.
The complex project arrived at Blohm and Voss in May of 2012 to be fitted out and completed and since then for the last year and a half (18-months) she has been in Dock 6. On the classic interior, there is accommodation for guests in three guest suites and two VIP-type suites. The owner has a duplex complete with it's own access to the sea via a folding balcony. Other stand-out features on Graceful include the large 15 X 3-meter main pool. The 'indoor' can even be converted into a large dance floor thanks to a raising floor mechanism...
Southern Wind to launch second SW82' sailyacht "Grande Orazio"
Southern Wind Shipyard of South Africa will launch the second SW82-foot sailyacht in January of 2014. The new sailing yacht is expected to be christened "Grande Orazio" and the news comes just a few months after the first SW82, "Feelin' Good". The design of Grande Orazio is by Nauta Yacht Design and bears Naval Architecture by Farr Yacht Design. The interior design is also by Nauta.
On the interior, the owner has a master stateroom to their disposal. Other accommodation caters to guests in four cabins. However, depending on the use of the yacht, one or two of these cabins can go to sleep crew if needed. The 40.5-tonne yacht is expected to be launched in the first month of 2014...
Delta Powerboats 80 IPS nearing delivery
Swedish yacht builder Delta Powerboats recently launched the flagship of their current line, the Delta 80 IPS. She is 26 meters long and is powered by triple Volvo Penta IPS 1200 engines. Delta's 80 IPS recently conducted sea trials and achieved a top speed of 37-knots between Estonia and Stockholm. Amazingly she demonstrated 30-percent less fuel consumption over her competitors...
Second Hatteras 100-foot motoryacht under construction
U.S builder Hatteras has started construction on the second 100-foot motoryacht. In fact work was going on for a while on the second hull. The first hull, launched and now completed as "Mr. Loui" kicked off the 100 RPH series for Hatteras. The second hull has now been moved to the main production area as Hatteras shows it being cradled into the indoor hall via travel lift.
The second hull is designed by the in-house team at Hatteras and fetaures a hard-top to shade the sun deck. Dual 1,900 horse power Caterpillar C-32 marine engines will run the first hull (Mr Loui). The engine sets in standard configuration provide a top speed of 25-knots. There is also a cruising speed of 19-knots and at a reduced speed, a range of 680 nautical miles can be covered. However, a prospective owner, if they should choose, could opt for a more powerful version...
IAG delivers second Electra 100 motoryacht
IAG Yachts are on the verge of delivering their second Electra line 100-foot motoryachts. If you remember, IAG launched the 31-meter Electra in 2011 In Build: IAG 31.6M "Freedom" megayacht - YachtForums.Com and now her slightly larger (31.6-meter) sister, the second hull, is about to be delivered.
The second hull is run by a pair of 1,342kW MTU marine engines giving her a top speed of 25-knots and a cruising speed around 18-knots. Hull number two in the Electra series benefits from dual 55kW Kohler generators, a Wesmar thruster as well as Seakeeper gyro stabilisers for further comfort. Speaking of comfort, guest accommodation is for eight. Four cabins sleep eight on the lower deck and yes even the full-beam master suite is below. There is a VIP suite and two twin cabins...
Westport delivers 40-meter megayacht "Fruition"
American builder Westport has notched another mark in their delivery belt with the completion of another 40-meter composite megayacht. The 39.62-meter megayacht is one of the latest from this particular line, the Westport 130, and was christened "Fruition".
Fruition bears naval architecture by William Garden with an exterior design/styling via Taylor Olson. The interior was worked out in-house by the Westport team. Overall, this is the 38th 40-meter yacht delivered by Westport. Bear in mind that the 130-foot series was refreshed a few years ago in 2009 bringing to the fore updated appeal and styling...
HeySea completes Asteria 108-foot motoryacht "Contessa"
HeySea, a Chinese yacht manufacturer recently completed the first hull in the new Asteria 108-foot series. Now completed and delivered she becomes the new flagship of the company. Done in composite construction and to a design by a Dutch company the Asteria 108 -christened as "Contessa"- exudes a sporty feel.
Inside there are four cabins all situated on the lower deck. A full-beam master, a VIP and two twins round out the guest accommodation configuration. The first Asteria 108 has been delivered to a client in Singapore where they will enjoy all the luxury trappings tied to yachting. Contessa boasts Seekeeper gyro stabilizers to keep her quiet at anchor. Powerful twin 1,081kW Caterpillar engines can run her up to 21-knots and cruise at around 18-knots if needed...
Cheoy Lee debuting the 87-foot Alpha Express at the FLIBS
Cheoy Lee is expected to debut their 87-foot Alpha Express model at the upcoming Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). Responsible for everything external on this yacht is Michael Peters Yacht Design with their hands on the hull design, naval architecture and the exterior styling. The contemporary interior was designed by Luiz de Basto. They brought wide-open spaces feel to a smaller vessel.
The new Alpha 87 Express accommodates up to eight guests in four cabins ad that is inclusive of a full-beam master cabin. The Alpha Express series is a performance oriented series. They are powered by a pair of 1,900 horse power C32 Caterpillar ACERTS marine engines. The Alpha Express fills out above 30-knots. On a sub 100-foot yacht, a jacuzzi can be found on the aft deck -a nice addition-. Her aft garage is cabable of storing a tender of 3-meters...
Update on Perini Navi's 70-meter sailing yacht
Italian yacht manufacturer Perini Navi certainly are making great progress on one of their most significant builds at the moment. Construction on hull C.2227, the 70-meter sailing yacht is moving along. She was recently moved from Perini's facility in Turkey to La Spezia in Italy for fit out. She will be completed at the Picchiotti Shipyard in La Spezia.
C.2227 is the second largest sailing yacht that they are building, second to the 88-meter "Maltese Falcon". This 70-meter superyacht has been designed in-house by the Perini Navi team with help from Philippe Briand. On the interior, PH Design of the U.S were consulted to design in that regard. As expected her numbers are large. At 70-meters LOA she will have a displacement of around 912 tons and a gross tonnage of 850GT...
Benetti Sail Division contracted to build new BSD 105RS motoryacht
Benetti Sail Division (BSD) has a new contract for the construction of a BSD 105RS. Construction will see the maturation of a modern classic that will serve to be the owner's 'second-home'. She is to be built in steel and aluminum giving her the right strength and balance expected in a modern luxury yacht.
Construction is being done in Viareggio, Italy in a scheduled time-frame with delivery set for the Spring of 2014. She will carry twin 1,000 HP engines that are to push her along at a leisurely 14-knots. Being built to RINA standards, the new BSD 105RS will have the ability to trot along at a 10-knots speed and conserve a 3,000 nautical-mile range...
46-meter Tripp designed sloop for Holland Jachtbouw
Continuing in the tradition of the Tripp Design award winning yachts "Mystere" and "Alithia", this 46-meter sloop will be a true world cruiser. Designed to just clear the Bridge of the Americas in the Panama Canal, this yacht will be able to cruise easily from the Caribbean to the Pacific. Construction will begin later this summer at Holland Jachtbouw on this 46-meter world cruising sloop.
Designed by Tripp the 46-meter sloop will have an interior by Rhoades Young Design. A reasonable 9.32-meter overall beam should ensure comfortable living onboard. This 235-tonne sloop will have a variable draft via a lifting keel. Drawn up she draws 4-meter and extended in deep water cruising, 6.5-meters. She is expected to be launched in 2015...

Barracuda unveils 50-meter superyacht design at the Monaco Yacht Show
Barracuda Yacht Design used the 2013 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) to unveil one of their new designs to the world. The design is on a 50-meter platform and blends elegant yet simple lines. The Barracuda 50-meter spreads over four decks where practical layout solutions have been devised by Iñigo Toledo -one of the designers from BYD-.
The plan was allowed to give guests four cabins. Interesting to note is the location of the guest cabins. Normally, they are set midships on the lower deck but this time the forward main deck is home to the four guest suites. They are all equal in proportion and all have ensuite bathrooms. The owner gets their own space on the deck above, offering privacy and its own aft deck.
For a 50-meter yacht plenty of space as been dedicated to 'outdoor living'...
Alloy unveils new design for PS46 sloop at Monaco
New Zealand builder Alloy Yachts unveiled a new design for a 46-meter semi production sloop at the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS). The design is being called the 'PS46'. Alloy Yachts say ‘the PS46 is ready to commence build immediately and is offered with a reduced build time.’ This is always a plus for prospective owners.
A familiar collaboration has been made for this particular project. Designer Philippe Briand and Alloy Yachts are working together on this one. You may remember that this same team brought you the 67-meter super ketch "Vertigo". Part of the brief for the design was a fast and elegant design which is what Alloy Yachts wanted and Philippe Briand’s expertise in streamlined, fast hulls added to the nature of the project...
Feadship unveils Feadship 'Royale' concept
Feadship has unveiled its latest Future Concept at the Monaco Yacht Show and she is a specatcular testimony to the art of glass. As is customary for this annual prototype, Feadship Royale was designed with the next generation of superyacht owners in mind. In this case the draughtsmen have given full rein to their imagination on the potential requirements of two specific hypothetical owners. To mark the year of the King's Coronation, Feadship Royale speculates on how King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima -and the country they serve- might use a Feadship.

Gulfcraft launches third 35M motoryacht "Sehamia"
The third 35-meter motoryacht from the Majesty 135 line by Gulfcraft has been launched. Immediately the third hull stands out from all others built by this UAE yard. The paint scheme of motoryacht "Sehamia" is distinctive and appears to be in a racing livery.
The onboard layout for the interior was arranged to fit the custom desires of the owner’s requests. The interior was desiged by Gulf Craft’s in-house team to reflect the owner's wants and desires. Trinity delivers 36.7-meter megayacht "Finish Line"
American yacht builder Trinity Yachts successfully delivered another custom-built megayacht for an American owner. The 36.7-meter megayacht "Finish Line" is the latest in a line of yachts from Trinity to be handed over to their owner. The raised pilot house motoryacht was built in all-aluminium was designed with performance in mind.
Below decks she houses twin MTU 16V 2000 engines which give her a top speed of 23-knots. She has a phenomenal range for a yacht of her size, some 3,600 nautical miles. Finish Line was also built with an as slim as possible draft, only drawing 1.7-meters. Perfect for Bahamian and U.S East Coast locales. There is accommodation for eight guests and owner in a Master stateroom, and three other cabins.

91-meter Project 'Orchid' makes her first splash at Lurssen
German builder Lurssen released another custom-built superyacht into the waters recently. However, this was only to tranfer the superyacht from the build shed to the outfitting shed. This was not the official launch for the 91-meter Project 'Orchid', sort of like a dress-rehearsal. Now she is in the outfitting dock at Lurssen, this is where she will have her clothes and make-up applied before she finally comes onto the open stage in 2015...
