    Hi,

Not really my cup of tea.

It looks like it takes complexity of systems to a new level while telling the Owner he can run it with less crew because so much is automated.

I wonder how many pilots will be jumping at the opportunity to be landing downwind on that thing?

I don't suppose they are really going to try and get the Nav lights approved like that either.

    Cheers,

    K1W1

no idea mate, but Tilli was the brains behind Pershing ... i've met him and he has dreams and vision ... he thinks out of the box ...

i suspect there will be some fine tuning to make this more practical ...

No need to apologize, I just added the link for more reference, it is nice to start a conversation about such boats and as you can see it is already interesting with more thoughts to come in for sure.

I personally like classic and basic looking boats with less automation, and so, I agree with K1W1's opinion.

    Cheers,

    Alfred

I *think* Lazzara became a distributor/importer of these boats prior to their demise. Accolades to Tilli for turning a dream into reality. I was aboard the Wider 42 at FLIBS. I'm not a fan of moving parts on a boat and I can't help but wonder about the long term viability of the mechanism(s). I'm certain that any reservation I can muster up was addressed in the engineering stages, but how do you overcome a potential buyer's fears of the same? If I recall, this thing had a "Riva-like" price tag. That's a lot of money for a boat that splits itself in half!

The previous links in this thread were dead when I tried them...

They make me as nauseous as the first ones did.

They're like they are one man's whim. Some features I think are quite unique and nice, but not something I'm running to buy. Plus who builds a 150' boat with only 1100 miles range.

It holds just under 12000 gallons, the range is 4200 at 11 knots

I see the numbers on their web site. Far different from those sent in their release to YF. Makes more sense now. Also doesn't reach the 20 knots mentioned in the release. I should have gone to their website initially.

I love needlessly complicated Italian boats, they help keep people like me employeed trying to fix them :)

Tilli is great, had the pleasure of meeting him when he was still with Pershing.
